We’re building up our game collection now that we’re moving to a house made for entertaining. What’s your favorite social game? My favorites are Taboo and Bonanza. My least favorite is apples to apples. I would love personal recs because all of the reviews on amazon are glowing for every game and thus aren’t terribly helpful.
The target game night is 4-10 people aged 21-30 some of whom like very complicated multi-stage games like Ticket to Ride while others get their kicks from UNO. We want to have a range of games.

@MrsBroccoli: I love ticket to ride!!! It sounds like we have the same game taste. 🙂 Try Carcassone…strategic, a little competitive, and SO MUCH FUN!
Also, Manipulation is an awesome card game to play with regular cards.

Ticket to Ride is our FAVORITE!!! We also like to play Skip Bo for a game that requires little/no strategy. If you have geeky/science friends, try Pandemic. Otherwise, Cranium or Pictionary are always good options for groups. Super Scrabble (it’s like 2 or 3 times the size of regular Scrabble) can be fun depending on the group. Sorry I don’t have more advice!

Scrabble is always a good game, that and skipbo! 🙂

Our favorites are Scrabble, Apples to Apples, Scattergories, Mille Bornes (a strange card game based completely on luck, but we always have a blast playing it in a group), UNO and Harry Potter Clue.
I like group games that can be played (and still fun) while not having to pay a ton of attention, and while imbibing copious amount of wine and beer.

Scrabble, but I rarely play it with my husband cause he hates that I beat him at it:P
Playing Apples to Apples with a dirty mind is pretty fun.

Farkle, I am just good at it. Also Poker, I love kicking all our guy friends’ arses at poker and taking their money. Just puts me into that happy place to shock them when I play better then they do.

Hands down, Cath Phrase is my favourite game. We also like Pictionary and The Game of Things.
Speaking of “Hands down”… Twister is always fun!
In terms of card games, SO and I love Euchre and Cribbage (no, we are not senior citizens! Haha)

Balderdash is hilarious, but it’s a once in a while game for us. We also love poker, euchre, Scattegories, Taboo, and whiteboard Pictionary.

Apples to Apples for sure! My partner and I played it early on in our relationship out at a bar with friends, and it’s always been one of my favorite games. We have several different decks of the cards, including the one for kids.
