I am all all all about this chocolate tofu pudding. I know, I just said tofu, but give it a chance - it's amazing! http://weelicious.com/2009/03/16/chocolate-tofu-pudding/ Use the amounts she gives, because I added more cocoa the first time, but not more sweetner - duh. So it was pretty bitter, but when I made it again it was fantastic!
I even found lite silken tofu and it ended up being less than 50 calories per serving!
If I'm having an ice cream craving I eat Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches or Fat Free Cool Whip (frozen). It gets the job done :)
Skinny Cow truffle bars are amazing, and I love R. W. Garcia's Flax and soy chips- sounds gross but they are SO good- they taste like fritos without the grease!
I LOVE Skinny Cow Mmmmmm! and 100 calorie Nilla Cakesters, but I eat too many cakesters for them to be diet anymore
I'm not really an ice cream person or a sweets person in general. But I LOVE hummus and really any kind of bean. Does that count as diet food? I think it's healthy b/c it's filling, low in fat, and has tons of protein!
I love Skinny Cow....all of their products are yummy...I can get my ice-cream/chocolate fix and not feel guilty. :)
Lately I've been loving Weight Watchers Chocolate Mousse ice cream bars...super yummy too...only 60 calories per bar (1 WW point).
Miss D'orsay - thanks for that link - totally gonna try that - it sounds delicious!
mmm, or 100 calorie popcorn. I love that too. And I may or may not be eating it right now...
This is a great thread! I love homemade fat free frozen yogurt. Mmmmm mmmm GOOD! I make a lot of different flavors but the chocolate raspberry is my favorite right now....
2 of my faves for the sweet tooth:
low fat chocolate graham crackers with fat free cool whip sandwiched in the middle. i freeze little squares of these and eat them when i need a sweet treat!
fat free yoplait yogurt mixed with equal parts fat free cool whip. yummy!
I also like frozen grapes and I LOVE sugary cereal like Corn Pops if I really need something sweet.
WW Mocha Sundaes are sooo yummy. The crust is made of chocolate cookie crumbs, which remind me of the chocolate crumbles in ice cream cake, mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!
Jello Sugar-free Choc. Pudding with Redi Whip's fat free topping (wicked good)
Laughing cow Lite Swiss cheese wedges with whole wheat reduced fat crackers
Fat-free chocolate marshmallow frozen yogurt
Stoneyfield fat-free french vanilla yogurt and then I add ground cinnamon
Vitamuffin Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin
Kashi 7 whole grain nuggets (I have an addiction to sugarless high fiber cereals, I don't know, I've had it since I was a kid- I try not to eat any processed food, but I eat this for dessert sometimes, I lurve it!!!)
That and roasted chickpeas (toss them in 1 tbps of olive oil and garlic slices and roast until crunchy). They are my popcorn replacement, good for protein.
Oh and Kale chips are my potato chip replacement, a tiny bit of olive oil, a sprinkling of salt, and some vinegar, bake, and the leaves turn super crispy and yummy.
I eat chocolate chips when I need a chocolate fix because you can feel like you're eating a lot of them for not too many calories. Also, Skinny Cow!
I forget the name, but there are these yogurt cups that have Oreo cookies to mix in...it's a great way to satisfy the chocolate/ice cream craving.
I also used to pour V8 in ice cube trays and suck on those when I needed something sweet.
FI and I have started eating cereal instead of chips, like corn flakes, Crispix, or Honey Bunches of Oats. We keep Crispix in the car right now, and it's saved us from swinging by Checker's for one of their cheeseburgers many a time. We are so bad about getting hungry while we're driving that this is definitely worth it!!
Does really dark chocolate count? That's what I treat myself with.
I have a new one! trader Joes dried fruit strips. They taste JUST LIKE fruit roll ups! I L-O-V-E them. only 50 cals per bar!
Tofutti fudge pops, 100 calorie popcorn, and Trader Joe's dark chocolate (according to Ellie Krieger, I can have 3 oz as a treat! mmm)
Sugar free jello with a dollop of cool whip on top, mmmmm yummy
I love the Skinny Cow products--they're so yummy AND portion controlled so I don't end up eating a whole tub of ice cream. I also love popcorn--usually it's the Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop.
I love the sugar free fudgscicles (in the yellow box!). They are only 40 calories and don't really have the "fake sugar" taste (even though there is fake sugar in there)
OH I love taking a piece of oatmeal bread toasting it, spray butter, cinnamon, and then a little spenda! Yum treat! and Diet Root Beer!
My homemade soft pretzels. One is about 130 calories with course cinnamon sugar on top, a little less with salt. It's really labor intensive, but its a treat that won't break the calorie bank!
For a quick sweet fix, I will have 1tbsp of mini chocolate chips & then I'll eat one at a time. It's like 100 little chips & 70 calories.
Yup, another vote for Skinny Cow.
But we're also at the awesome time of year when fresh summer produce can totally satisfy my cravings as well. Plump strawberries and juicy peaches? I'm sooooo there.
Yes Bru! I am all on the produce bandwagon for the summer! Stopped yeseterday for Strawberries and Nectarines! Now, if only I could get all those carbs out of corn on the cob, I'd be golden!
Mixing ff Cool Whip with ff/sf pudding mix. It's sooo good and FI always asks me to make it too.
After all this talk of brownies and goodies, I tried something new last night. Made Ducan Hines Chewy Brownie mix using the low-fat recipe. Basically you take out one egg and the oil and replace it with unsweetened applesauce. Cuts the fat down to 2g and the calories are actually the same as the "No Pudge" mix! Also using Ducan Hines cuts down on sugar and carbs. So if you can spare the 2g of fat try this out sometime!!! Tastes just as delicious!
MmMm.... Tofutti Cutie Ice Cream sandwiches and the good old fat free / sugar free fudge pops do it for me!
morningstar chik nuggets. Fake chicken so delicious. Or I love the buffalo wings too. The Italian Chicken patties are also nice.
Tips: use a toaster oven.
How I lost 25lbs without even trying by eating this delicious salad:
organic spring mix and/or romaine lettuce
morningstar chick'n product
paul newmans lighten up caesar salad dressing 1-2 tablespoons
handful of cherry tomatos
I ate it once a day. It felt like junk food because of the chik'n product.
