FI and I are hosting a little housewarming party on Friday, and I wanted to make some sort of seasonal cocktail to serve our friends. Anyone have a favorite fall drink? Ideally, I’d like to serve something I can make in a large batch, like sangria or a punch. Any recommendations are welcome!

annb9: this is probably a tough one to serve in a large batch, but my favorite fall drink is warm apple cider with a shot of fireball whiskey. it is SO delish!!!!!

Mulled wine or mulled (spiked with rum or bourbon) cider are always a good choice!

I know it’s not a cocktail but Oktoberfest anything. 🙂

annb9: Hot toddie/toddy! They’re lovely and great when you have a cold or are feeling ill. I don’t know exact measurements but it’s: hot black tea, whiskey, honey, lemon juice, and maybe some whole cloves for aroma.

Maple old fashioned…I also love mulled wine and pumpkin cider.

I love spiked cider too! I just take apple juice, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and sugar and simmer it in a pot for a bit then add a shot of whiskey to each cup!

I made this one up so I call it a “Hot Mylastname”. So you can call it a Hot Ohnatto. Its hot black chai tea with a dash of cream and a shot of whipped cream vodka. You can garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Corona Light Chavela. Not too spicy, just flavorful.

We call it Mr. LK’s “Happy Juice.” It’s apple cider with cinnamon schnapps (like Hot Damn) and dark rum to taste. Serve warmed or cold. Ether way, it goes down entirely too easy. Yum!

If it’s warm where you are, I love moscow mules. If it’s chillly, mulled wine or hot toddies.
