I am trying to lose weight and I’m doing pretty well as far as eating healthy foods goes, but I just cannot get used to eating breakfast every day. I’ve never been a breakfast person, usually the very thought of food in the morning makes me nauseaus. However, I know I need to start eating breakfast since, well, it’s supposed to be “the most important meal of the day,” and if I don’t eat I’m starving by 10:30 AM and that throws off my entire day!
So what is your favorite breakfast? Foods that I could take to work and eat are probably best, I just can’t make myself eat when I first wake up. Also I’m not too picky, I’ll try anything.

My routine is kind of weird, but I eat an incredibly small breakfast when I get up, I have a 1.5 hour commute, and I eat a second breakfast when I arrive at work. It really really works to kickstart your metabolism. For my tiny breakfast I usually have like half a banana, 1/4 cup of cereal, half a piece of fruit like a pear or apple, something like that.
For a real breakfast, I like yogurt (pref greek) with fruit and/or granola, a bagel, or a couple pieces of fruit.

My 2 fav breakfasts are #1: Rice Crispies with cut up bananas and #2: An apple cut up with peanut butter for dip.
Not sure if those are “healthy” enough for you, but those are healthy enough for me – better than pop-tarts, I say 🙂

I found this on pinterest and have been eating it for a couple of weeks. http://pinterest.com/pin/75716837455742346/
It keeps me going until my midmorning snack!

@Miss Sorbet: I like oatmeal because it’s really filling, but not high calorie. I know that a lot of supermarkets sell single serving oatmeal packs, so you can easily prepare it at work if you have a microwave.

I was the same way as you. I keep instant oatmeal in my desk. Just add hot water or microwave and you’re set. it’s filling, but not too big and you can get the variety pack to change it up. Also, sometimes I change it up and have some fruit or a granola bar or something.

I have a bowl of cereal every morning for breakfast. Something healty that I eat sometimes when I’m in more of a rush is peanut butter toast and a banana. You can toast the bread, put the pb on it, throw it on a paper towel and eat it in the car. 🙂

I eat greek yogurt and half cup of kashi go lean crunch for breakfast nearly every week-day morning.

i used to be very much a cereal or toast/english muffin with peanut butter type person.
i wanted to cut back on carbs, so now i have 1 scrambled egg every morning and it’s been great!
i thought i wouldn’t like it, since i don’t usually do “big” breakfasts- but i transitioned into it easily. plus, it takes the same amount of time as toasting an english muffin and putting PB on it!

Oatmeal, which I typically eat at my desk at work. I buy “baby oats” from the bulk section of Whole Foods — you just have to pour boiling water over the top to cook, and they don’t have any processed crap in them like the packaged stuff! It keeps me full until lunch… which is kind of a miracle.

Here are a few of my faves:
- non-fat greek yogurt w/ muesli or granola (measure the muesli/granola serving because those are both high calorie)
- instant oatmeal (keep an eye on total sugar, because some prepared flavors are very high in sugar)
- banana, honey, and peanut butter all mashed together and rolled up in a tortilla or on a whole wheat english muffin (I usually make this at home and eat it on my walk to the subway)

I absolutely love greek yogurt with granola – it keeps my full until lunch. Sometimes I make smoothies with greek yogurt, a banana, strawberries and a little protien powder.

I’m a “toast two waffles as I’m getting ready and grab them as I’m running out the door” kind of girl haha

I was just at the naturopathic doctor’s yesterday and she suggested trying a protein shake for breakfast.
1 scoop whey isolate protein (can get the vegan kind, but its more expensive). I got the vanilla flavour.
1 cup frozen berries.
1/2 frozen banana
Unsweetened almond milk to make it liquidy.
I had the first one this morning. I actually found it filling, but kinda too sweet tasting. I’m going to try them for the week to see. You could load them into water bottles to bring to work.
