I'm thinking of changing to a new foundation. I currently use Bare Minerals, and have for years. But I'm thinking of trying out a liquid foundation. What's your favorite?
I've been trying out lots of different non-drugstore foundations recently. The best one I've found so far is Elizabeth Arden Intervene. But I'm going to try out a couple more before I make my decision and actually purchase the foundation.
For light-medium coverage, I really like my Almay color match smart shade liquid foundation.
i used to use MAC and Almay but I switched to bare minerals about 6 months ago and like it much better!
I only wear makeup when I go for nights out (date nights, girls night out, fancy dinner etc.) so I'm no pro, but I use the ever popular MAC studio fix.
I just bought some Mineralize Satin Finish foundation from MAC....hopefully I like it!
I wore Bare Minerals for years. I love the light coverage it gives (and most liquid foundations I've tried just look too thick). I have dry skin in the winter, so I wanted to try something a little more moisurizing. I recently switched to Benefit "Some Kind of Beautiful." It's a really light foundation (and actually they only have 3 colors, but the original has worked form me and all of my sisters (and we all have different colored skin). It's a sheer coverage, so when I want a little more, I'll still use some of my bare minerals on top of it to set it. It's been working well for me!
I love neutrogena Healthy Skin, I feel like it really helps even my skin tone after a few weeks of using it. I also love Aveeno Positively Radiant face wash, it also helps even skin tone, esp if you tan.
i use bare minerals but with a foundation sponge. it gives a lot more coverage and it looks natural.
Bare Minerals was my first mineral foundation. I have since moved onto Laura Mercier's mineral foundation, which I love. I didn't like how the BM foundation left me kind of shiny, and felt like it was too heavy. LM's is lightweight, but also provides great coverage.
i use Revlon PhotoReady and i love it - although, when you first put it in your hand it looks a bit sparkly, its not all glittery on your face or anything - it gives a nice, light, even complexion - even through gross gym-sweating days ;)
I LOVE L'Oreal Infalible liquid foundation. I even got my mom and sister hooked on it. I used to use Bare Minerals, and while I liked it, it's not so affordable for someone on a budget. I also like the coverage it gives, and most of the time CVS, Rite Aid, or Walgreens has them on sale or BOGO.
I love MakeupForever at Sephora. It covers everything but doesn't feel too cakey!
I tried the PhotoReady foundation too (I got the powder as well). I REALLY like it. It isn't too heavy but gives a good finish. The powder I would say has to be reapplied every 3 hours or so especially in the heat but the foundation underneath stays on all day.
I splurged on this because I didn't have any good foundation to wear and with all the wedding festivities I needed something good!
i use mac for special occasions, stila with spf 30 during the summer and any old tinted moisturiser day to day. with foundation a have to use a primer though. would love to use mineral but my dry skin hates powder
I just bought Stila Illuminating Foundation from Ulta, and I really like it. It feels a little heavy at first, but after a few minutes, I don't notice it anymore. Plus, it stays on forever. I had tried all of the drug store brands, and couldn't find anything I liked. Now I have a bunch of $7-8 bottles I don't use. I should've just paid for the $35 one to start with!
I mix my neutrogena face lotion with almay liquid foundation in my palm and put on my face every morning. It's great because it has light coverage (I don't feel like I'm wearing a layer of mask over my face all day) and it's great for my skin also!
The Clinique Almost Makeup line is awesome. It's a pretty sheer foundation, sort of like a tinted moisturizer. I also love the Revlon Photoready. I've been through the MAC/Bare Escentuals/Clinique/Makeupforever/various drugstore brands and I've never found anything that I like as much as the Photoready. It lasts all day (back and forth from work to school in 90 degrees) with very little touchup needed.
I use Artistry's liquid foundation (What i love about their foundation is they have two different kinds- a balancing for those who have oily and combination skin and a hydrating for people who have dry skin) and Artistry's essential mineral foundation. Its so light wear but lasts all day. Feels like you have absolutely nothing on.
I rarely wear foundation , especially in the summer but I will for my wedding. I like Revlon New Complexion. Im doing my own hair and make up for my wedding. I prefer not to wear that much, anyone else?
I would like to not wear a lot of foundation but I have a lot of pigmentation and uneven skintone that I don't feel comfortable leaving out for the world to see!
I'm a huge fan of Aveda products. I wear the tinted moisturizer and the duel foundation. They are amazing!
I wear Bare Minerals for everyday. It's very light and comfortable. For special occasions, I wear Make Up For Ever foundation. It's awesome, but I think it's a tad too heavy for everyday.
I used Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup with SPF 15 on a daily basis, because it's lightweight and keeps me from getting the forehead oil slick. I use Mary Kay Medium Coverage Liquid Foundation when I need more coverage for rare occasions. Both are great! I don't like to wear liquid everyday because I tend to get hot and it feels like it's melting off. Good thing I'm getting married in November!
Everyday I just wear some Clinique powder that I can't remember the name of, but for special events I wear Stila Illuminating Foundation. Beware, it gives you a dewy/glowing finish, so if you like matte finishes this isn't for you. But I love the way it makes my skin look.
I vote for Clinique as well. I love their liquid foundation as well as their loose powder. It covers really well and it doesn't feel like it's caked on at all. LOVE IT!
Mary Kay is so Fab to me. I do use others like Mac, Bobby Brown but i was shock how well my mary kay worked over the competition.
Mary Kay for me too! Their full-coverage works better than any I've tried..and they are much more affordable!
When I wear foundation, I use Almay Smart Shade make up. It's light, it's easy to apply (I use my fingers bc I'm such a pro, har har), and it stays on all night! I wouldn't hesitate to wear it every day if I needed to, bc it hasn't irritated my sensitive skin either.
If you are going from bare minerals, I would suggest you try a tinted moisturizer. Otherwise, traditional foundation may feel heavy.
For light, every day summer wear: Laura Mercier Illuminating Foundation. It looks sparkly in the tube but DOES NOT look that way on your skin. I look like i spent a day at the beach. It looks great on my skin. Don't let the "shimmering" description scare you. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P214216&categoryId=B70
Heavier, night makeup/break outs/weddings/outside a lot: HD Forever Makeup by Sephora. Looks great and stays on all day. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P217905&categoryId=B70
And DO use a real makeup foundation brush for the application. It makes a world of difference. You get less pimples, too, than if you use your fingers.
I use Mary Kay! I'm not a fan of MK makeup, but out of the countless foundations I've tried: nothing matches or covers as well as the MK line!
almay color match, it is fool proof! it literally blends right into your exact face shade.
I still don't have a favorite. I can't ever find one that's a great match to my skin paleness and tone. Also, my current foundation is a big win for the winter, but I get sort of shiny with it in the summer. Bah!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned my favorite. I LIVE by Smashbox! Its not cheap, the foundation costs close to $40, but it should last 2 months. Also, you have to buy the primer "photofinish" it's AMAZING. I only use the primer on nights out/special occasions because thats not cheap either. You can find smashbox at sephora or ulta. Oh, and I use a cheaper face powder to set it all in, like almay.
Photogenique Lumessence by Lancome --- it's for dry skin but I believe there is a powder version for oily skins
I am wearing Mac Studio Tech for the wedding. I feel like cream foundations blend into my skin better and last longer.
