My parents own a beauty supply store so I have a stash of OPI, Orly, Kiss, and random off-brands in my nail polish collection. A month ago, I saw a coupon on the ‘bee for “Zoya” nail polish and it came in over the weekend. I absolutely love it! It dries fast, it doesn’t suffocate my nails and I love the smooth finish, even the colors that have a lil glitter in them :P

I’m not used to paying for nail polish, but this brand is definitely worth the money! What is your favorite?

Right now I'm using Piggy Paint and I don't love it. I'm using it b/c it's natural and I'm pregnant so I don't want something chemically and smelly. If anyone has any better suggestions for a natural nail polish I'd love to hear them!

OPI is my go to brand. It's reasonably priced and the color doesn't chip off right away. I always love all the fun shades that MAC carries, but their polish is garbage and comes off in huge flakes if you don't put a good top-coat on.

I always seem to go back to essie, so I guess it's my favourite by default. Though I am currently wearing something by China Glaze and I'm really liking it. I will have to look into Zoya, too.

@artbee: I know that Butter London is supposed to be a high-quality eco-friendly nail polish, but it's a bit pricey.

I'm an OPI addict, but occasionally buy Revlon and Essie.

I usually swear by OPI and Essie, but my sister sent a link for Zoya and told me it was the best nail polish she's ever used.  I like it too!

I like OPI but my favorite cheapo polish is actually NYC In a New York Minute. It goes on really well and doesn't chip right away.

Has anyone tried Ginger and Liz?

I found this color I love for my winter wedding but I don't know if the polish is any good- http://www.gingerandliz.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=859173002287

I usually use OPI which is way better than any designer brand I've ever used.

I swear by OPI - I recently got rid of all of my non-OPI nail polishes because none of the worked nearly as well so they were just taking up space.  My whole nail polish collection is now OPI and I intend it to stay that way! :)

@missjyc: I used the same coupon, and got mine last week.  I really, really like them! Usually I use Essie, Orly, or OPI - along with a nice mix of cheapies from Wal-Mart. I have one color on my toes, and another on my hands, and both are holding up really well.  I am impressed! My only issue is they look really different than what the screen showed, color wise, but that's not their fault!

    What colors did you get?

@Lindsay12.31.2010: Zoya has a color spoon system where they will send you little chips of the polish so you can see the true color before making a decision. I forget how much it is.... I haven't ordered Zoya polishes in awhile.

    Chanel!

You could walk through fire for a week straight, and this polish would stay on without chipping. You don't need a topcoat, but if you want that shiny look, their topcoat is also the slickest, shiniest one I've ever encountered.

@Lapeaudesoie: Really? I have terrible luck with Chanel polishes. They always chips the next day and for $25 there is no way that should be happening. Can anyone tell I'm a nail polish junkie?

@LGenz: I just checked out their site, and their color spoons are only $.50.  Plus shipping, I suppose.  I may just order a bunch of them to make shipping worthwhile.

@Lindsay12.31.2010: I completely agree with you that the colors were a bit off from the color they showed on the website, but that lil color palette they sent was cute.

I got a deep purple with shimmer, a dark hot pink, and a nude color. Can't think of the names right now! :P What did you get?

Haha, I got Cassie, Meadow, and another one that I can't remember.  One is sheer white, one is sheer pink, and the other is kind of a shimmery mauve. I thought the pink was more of a coral, which is what I was going for, but oh well.  The white is my least favorite - it is kind of opulescent, reminds me of a seashell - hints of green, purple, blue, etc. in different  light.

I love OPI, Essie, and China Glaze (: I do find that some OPI polishes get really thick and goopy after a while whereas China Glaze and Essie don't.

I'm so surprised by how many people like Zoya! I ordered 3 at the time of that free offer and I hate them! No matter how thinly I apply them I ALWAYS get bubbles! Plus they take FOR-EVER to dry and I always end up with smudges. I feel like they're not even useable.

miss ranunculus    June 2, 2012   Columbus...reluctantly moving to Austin

I'd been a casual nail polish enthusiast since high school, but in the last 6 months or so (as I prepared my hands to be e-ring ready!) I've become a serious nail polish junkie...

My go to brand has always been OPI, and more recently Sephora by OPI.  I love their colors, especially some of them in the Sephora line.  I started reading a bunch of nail polish blogs and discovered Deborah Lippmann.  I fell in love with her new Glitter in the Air color and made my first big polish purchase - it certainly is pricey stuff, but I think it's worth it for the product.

I got my first Chanel (Paradoxal) last night as a birthday gift from one of my BM's and wow!  I haven't worn it long enough to make a judgement on how it lasts, but the color is amazing.

With some other birthday money I ordered a couple of colors of Illamasqua (gotta love their fun names!) I can't wait to try them out once they arrive.  I also want to give butter London a try.

Right now, as it stands my favorites are Sephora OPI Read My Palm, OPI Sweet Memories, and Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air.  I could really go on and on though.

I think we need a nail polish addicts thread!  I want to hear more about what colors you ladies like!

I love Sally Hanson nail polishes. The colors are all really pretty and the polish goes on smoothly. Best of all is that they are half the price of some salon brands.

The best nail product i've tried so far though,  has to be the Seche Vite fastdry topcoat. You paint it on last before the color has dried. It helps your nails dry faster and gives it a nice, hard-candy coated look. Super glossy! It also prolongs the life of your paint and keeps it from chipping.
