We used to frequent a resturaunt called Mars- they had an excellent thai inspired menu- but they closed this past fall. We ate there the day we got engaged :)
My parents diner...haha :) it was featured on Food Network. We do lunch there every Sunday.
We have lived in three different states together and have favorites in each.
Boston: Ruth's Chris (it's a chain across the US, and it is delicious, but pricey!)
Newport: 22's, the Mooring or Sardella's
New Jersey: Pinziminio's
We also love Le Cellier in Disney World.
We have too many favorites to narrow it down to just one! :)
We also love a local restaurant called "Sugo" which is Greek and Italian fusion. Also quite yummy and very romantic.
Van Dyke Café on Lincoln Road Mall in Miami Beach! A bistro table outdoors is the perfect spot for people watching and the cozy upstairs lounge features live jazz every night. Did I mention that the food is delicious?
Impossible to pick just one! Can I have ten instead, please?
In Seattle, my favorite place is the Stumbling Goat. We went there to celebrate the engagement, but we can't afford to go there very much. They serve all local organic gourmet food, and it is divine! Sitka and Spruce is also very good... and I want to try out the owner's new restaurant in Georgetown, but he only has one seating a night and the waiting list is really long. We'll get there someday.
Right now, our favorite is a tiny Italian place in our small town called "Caruso."
Mmm... just thinking about their bruschetta just made me drool a little, lol.
Slows BBQ - Detroit - insanely good
India House - Chicago - our favorite Indian - they're heat is PERFECT!
Shalimar - Ann Arbor - favorite local Indian
Thai Cafe - Royal Oak - fresh veggies, and their coconut curry is to die for
A few of our faves
Hum, hard to pick just one, but I'll try to narrow it down...
We love to go to Carrabba's (spelling?!?!) it is a nice dinner out without breaking the bank. We also love to go to this neat little family owned Mexican place near my house-hot chips, creamy cheese dip, ice cold beer in pitchers, and sizzling plates of fajitas. There is a place near where he lives in SC where we like to go with his parents and my children bc they serve family style-so we all sit together and pass platters friend chicken, catfish, coleslaw, etc. Since my twins are 5-anywhere that David and I go that doesn't involve a playground, crayons on the table or plastic cups is a treat out for us! :)
(this past weekend, my favorite was Pizza Papa Johns delivered to our door as we hung out HOME ALONE-no kids as they were at their grandparents! Wearing sweats and tshirts watching movies-no restaurant could have been better!)
Besides a tiny place down the street from us, I would have to say the Cheesecake Factory. I know, I know, its a chain but everything there is so good.
In Long Beach, CA....555 East which has the best steaks I have ever had. It's what I call my 'death row' meal (last meal). Yum.
If its for my FI and I, we love a steakhouse in Tampa called Bern's. It's wonderful and must be followed with a trip to their dessert room.
When we visit Atlanta, I love going to Bacchanalia. It is one of the most amazing restaurants I've been too with a focus on local foods.
If you are ever in Chicago or Miami Beach October-May you must go to Joe's Stone Crab! It's devine! We go at least one a month! The stone crab is to die for!
I am getting hungry reading this thread!
- Trattoria Il Panino (north end of Boston)
- Oceanaire (chain but wonderful seafood)
- Papa Gino's (hehe love it!)
Really hard for me to pick just one, also but last weekend I ate at an Outback steakhouse and it was GOOOOOOOOOD!
There's a terrific sushi place in my neighborhood called Sushi Dan. Really creative cooked rolls which is good b/c I'm not much for raw fish.
Darnit...now I'm hungry! ![]()
We love us some Asian food, and the bestie and I are feens for sushi. Our favorites around here are Olive & Sesame, and we just tried a new one the other night called East West Bistro. There was also this kick ass buffet called Asian Buffet (one of a kind, I know) right around the corner from us that closed a year ago. I still pine for them...
When we have to have meat, we always go for Texas Roadhouse. We're the opposite of country, but we'll deal with it to get some good quality food. All 3 are reasonably priced and a great atmosphere. Oh and when we're celebrating something special or want to stuff ourselves to the gills, there's always Sakura. Gotta love food that's cooked right in front of you
FH and I are total foodies so it is hard to pick just one so I'll just say the first restaurant that came to mind which is Park Ave. It isn't in the prettiest part of Orange County but the atmosphere is great and the food and service is EXCELLENT! We really wanted to have our wedding here but the space just wasn't big enough. I attached a picture of the bar.
Seattle: It's not really fine dining, but if you're in the area check out Red Mill Burgers. The best burgers & onion rings in the world. :)
Our favorite restaurant is Wazuzu in the Encore Las Vegas. The food is absolutely amazing.
Des Moines--Rock Bottom Brewery--tasty and unique microbrews, yummy tomato & artichoke pasta, and odd but awesome early 90s music on the sound system. ^_^
Omaha--Jazz--awesome cajun food, especially the chicken diane and shrimp etoufee. Great atmosphere and they have live zydeco music on certain nights.
Omaha--Mt. Fuji Inn--INCREDIBLE roast duck, sushi, and other interesting Japanese and Catonese dishes. And they normal seating plus traditional Japanese seating, plus sunken seating in the private tea rooms so it looks like you're sitting cross legged, but you're not. Super neat.
Omaha--The Upstream--a brewery with delicious pizzas and great other types of food (and more microbrews!). Love the roast duck with cherry sauce here. ^_^ I guess I didn't realize how much I like duck...

T and I love this place in an area called Vinings called Canoe. In the springtime the gardens surrounding the place are blooming with flowers and we love their food. I am a sucker for their artisan cheese plate where we get to sample cheeses from around the world..that's where we go for special occasions. Plus it's so lovely on the banks of the Chattahoochee river.
And you and your Fi?
