So, I'm making thanksgiving dinner this year for the first time, and I think I have all my recipes squared away, but I'm considering adding one more.  So what are some of your favorite recipes for thanksgiving?

We are making our first Thanksgiving Dinner this year too.  In our new house, so it's very exciting. I have nothing to share though, we are working straight out of the Williams Sonoma Thanksgiving cookbook. Hehe.

Mashed potatoes!! My secret ingredient is cream cheese.  It's delicious!

My mom makes Paula Deen's sweet potatoes and they are also awesome.

Yum!!  I love both mashed and sweet potatoes, and I never really have sweet potatoes any other time of year.

Stuffing (outside the bird in our house!) and homemade pumpkin pie (i.e. fresh pumpkin, not canned)!!! Can't have a holiday without them

My favorite is cranberry sauce with whole cranberries, oranges and walnuts.  I know it's supposed to be kind of a minor side dish, but I think it's the best part of the meal!

My grandmother's rolls! They're sweet clover rolls, and they're amazing! I'm trying them by myself for the first time, and I'm TERRIFIED!

For me, it always has been and always will be all about the stuffing (inside the bird in my house)!

I'm making it all for the first time this year, ack!

My favorite is the sweet potato casserole I always make. Made with sweet potatoes, brown sugar, Amaretto - and topped with a crust made of brown sugar combined with butter and melty mini marshmallows. Yum. And horrible for you, hence i only eat it once a year (albeit, for about five days in a row).

My mom's cranberry-orange bread! It is seriously the best bread ever. It is the one thing people start asking me for a month before Thanksgiving. Husband begs me to freeze cranberries so I can make it all year long and he swears he married me for this bread! I posted the recipe on my blog. It is easy to do but it does take some patience to cut all the cranberries in half. You can't cheat or it won't turn out right.

My favorite is my Grandma's apple pie. I'm the one making it now but she used to make a whole extra pie just for me. The other fav recipe is this one from allrecipes:

My mom's stuffing!! She makes the.best.stuffing.ever. Its one of those things where if someone else makes it its still good, but when she makes it... you better be at the front of the line or you're not getting any!

These sweet potatoes are my absolute favorite!  Actually, we make them several times a year, not just at the holidays.  But they are soooooooo good.  :)

Its a secret :P. Seriously, its like 2 loaves of dried bread (not the prepackaged stuff!!), chicken stock, eggs, onion, sage, celery... not sure what else, nothing fancy, but its flippin' amazing! I will swipe it and post it when I get to their house tomorrow morning!

omg I'm so hungry for thanksgiving food!!
