Red wine...but then that's my favourite thing to drink anywhere ;) But if I have to drink liquor...vodka, you can do lots with it.
Also, I dont know if its the same where you are as it is here in Ontario, Canada...but you can return any unopened bottles to the liquor store. So you can essentially stock up on everything and just return what is not used! :D
I'm usually a beer drinker, but one of my favorites for liquor is Seagrams 7 and 7-up. I would definitely have vodka like Miss Chicken suggested, there are so many possibilities with it, rum tends to be popular with our group of friends, and maybe a good tequila. I hate the taste of it but I know a lot of people love margaritas.
Im a fan of girly mixed drinks. I would make sure you have some wine coolers for the girls. My all time favorite drink is Bacardi 03
Yes, we can return all unopened liquor bottles. Right now we're thinking the basics: lots of rum and vodka, a little scotch and tequila, a couple bottles of gin, some amaretto, some bitters... But keep 'em coming, I love this -- I hadn't thought about champagne!
I like Jack and ginger ale and while I may be in the minority for girls, I'm sure some of the gentlemen would like a whiskey option :)
No red wine? That would be my choice for a wedding.
I also like gin & tonic and I see gin is on your list -- so be sure to have some limes! I drink white wine, usually Pinot Grigio. And I'm a beer girl. I love a local, special, or fun beer. I'm sure someone like me would be happy with anything, as long as the choices are obvious!
I'd also offer a few kinds of rum ... I prefer Captain (Spiced Rum), others may prefer Coconut, and others traditional.
Champagne, Bourbon, Beer...
You seem to have the liquor covered. I would have a few different white wines. Get the liquor store to help you find a good variety - make sure you have a sweet one and a dry one. I personally like to drink Riesling because its so light. And then I would go with a couple classic beers - Bud and Bud Light - and then maybe a local beer with more flavor.
Good point, Danielle. I was thinking maybe a Riesling, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Grigio...Chardonnay is one of my least favorites, but I know that's popular, too.
I also drink mostly red wine.
Other than that, maybe a Belgium wheat beer?
In order of preference...good champagne, good red wine, great white wine, vodka with a mixer, ok red wine, crap red wine. :)
Yeah, sorry, no red wine at this party. Hopefully people will be happy with a nice cocktail or a local beer. : )
My favorite is a white russian. That's a little more complicated though, needing Kahlua and milk.
Oh yeah, I hadn't even thought about cold drinks like a white russian. I love those too! I'll add milk to the list of mixers, maybe?
I wonder if we should put a list of suggested drinks on the bar, or a note that red wine isn't available due to site restrictions. We've tried to make that clear via word-of-mouth along the way, but I still hate the thought of people having to ask and being turned down.
At an open bar, I either drink red wine or vodka-tonic. I used to drink vodka-cranberry juice, but then I realized that tonic had fewer calories AND was less of a stain risk for a klutz like me. ;)
champagne or sauvignon blanc (my favorite white wine)
@Mr. Bee: Can we hang out? I too love a good red wine or a Belgium wheat beer. I also love me some vodka tonics!
WBee is apparently the place for Vodka Tonic lovers!
Honestly, while I love a nice vodka drink or a great glass of white wine or craft beer, sometimes all I want is ICE WATER!
GreyGoose and cranberry juice is my go to drink. But since you can't have red things I'd go for tonic. It's most important to have a quality vodka, then the mixer doesn't matter. I also enjoy Reisling. I never drink beer, (by choice).
I love fruity martinis, but my go-to drink if there is a full bar and I'm unfamiliar with how they make their drinks is a vodka soda with lime. My advice is soda, tonic, and citrus(!) on top of whatever other mixers and liquor you get!
Rum based drinks! (I was born in the caribbean)
Good wine. And yes a good beer for the guys.
Champagne for the toast!
I'm a white wine girl! Actually I love, love, love rieslings... it's not proper to serve it with every meal, but that's just how I roll. lol pasta, chicken, peanut butter & jelly-- it just works!
At weddings I'll usually grab a rum & coke or white wine. You definitely need to have orange juice & 7up on hand. They can be mixed with nearly anything & its usually my go-to mixer if the bar isn't fully stocked.
You're lucky! I wish we were able to bring in our own liquor...
I think that you should include Malibu just because people love malibu and diet coke, I know I do.. otherwise my FI made my a beer drinker---MGD 64! :)

We're bringing our own liquor/beer/wine into our venue and we're struggling with what to provide to make as complete a bar as possible. We're not allowed anything red (no red wine, no cranberry juice), but other than that we have free reign. Our crowd is pretty hard-partying, and we'd hate for somebody to show up and ask for their favorite drink, only to find that we forgot to buy its ingredients!
We're consulting with a liquor store, but I'm just curious: What's your go-to drink at an open bar?
