I use Redken Guts 10. It's a volumizing foam/mousse. I put it in while my hair is wet, brush it through and then blow dry. I don't know how much actual volume it gives me, but I can now go more than 1 day without washing my hair. Before it would look limp and greasy by the next day, but with the mousse, it still looks good.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray! It's pricey... but it's AWESOME!! I love what this does for my hair, and now I can't go without it. I use after I blow dry, spray through the roots... let it dry a few seconds... then style. (I tease at the roots a little, too... it holds really well with this.) Also fantastic for the days you don't have time (don't want to) wash your hair in the morning.

I am in LOVE with volumizing powder, especially for up-dos! It has been a lifesaver when doing wedding/formal hair for my clients (I'm a hairstylist). A little definitely goes a looooong way, and when/if coupled with backcombing..... holy... we're talking some SERIOUS big hair!
I swear by 1) TIGI Catwalk volumizing creme and 2) living proof volumizing cream. Both are seriously effective. I've tried everything out there and these are the only ones that will give me that big, voluminous hair. I have really thin, sparse hair (especially near the crown) and this makes my hair look really thick and full. Just apply a few drops/pumps to wet hair and flip over and blow dry. Afterwards I usually set my hair with a curling iron. Hope this helps!
using a dry shampoo is the only way I can ever get any volume at my roots. You can use it on dirty hair to refresh it or on clean hair for more style. I use suave (way better than tresame)
I like Big Sexy Hair's root pump. It's one of the best root lifts I've tried.
I don't put anything in my hair because I feel like it weighs it down, but i'm intrigued by some of the products that you gals mentioned.
My secret is to use volumizing shampoo/conditioner, rinse the conditioner out really, really well.
I don't use product, but I blowdry my hair upside down concentrating on the roots. Then I flip over and use a brush to tease my roots, then use Tresemme Extra Hold to keep my foofed hair foofy (voluminous).
Fat Hair Root Lifter and Fat Hair Amplifying Mousse by Samy. I love all their products.
I tend to try to flatten my hair instead of volumizing it, but I know that dry shampoo if commonly used to volumize. My favourite dry shampoo is Blo Faux Dry.
I love Aussie Aussome Volume Mousse. It's like 3 bucks, and gives my hair a lot of umph!
I use Big Sexy Hair root pump plus on all of my clients. I also use big sexy volumizing blow out gel if they want a big hairstyle with more hold.
The trick with the root pump is to overdirect the hair forward and blowdry under the root area first.
John Freida's volumizing mouse or spray, both work so well. I have very fine hair and I don't go a day with out using one or the other. Used to use the Thickening Spray by Bumble & Bumble which I liked a lot too, just not the hefty price tag.
Thanks for all the suggestions ladies. I'll definitely have to check these out!

Hi Bees,
I've been looking to try new volumizing hair products as I feel like my hair is so flat and limp lately. I always put in mouse before blow drying but feel like it's not really working too well.
So what does everyone use to give their hair some more bounce and volume. And what the heck is a the difference between mouse and a root lifter?
