Father of the Bride.... (yeah, I'm old school like that!) I cry every time...
It probably doesn't count in the "wedding movie" genre but I LOVE Sex and The City the first movie. All those wedding dresses, all the drama and the eventual simple ceremony. Has to be the best I've seen for a long time. Sorry if it doesn't count lol.
Hmm The Princess Bride, not really a wedding movie but the wedding ceremony in it is far and away the funniest ever
Do you mean the original with Liz Taylor and Spencer Tracy, or the remake with Steve Martin? The remake is actually my fave movie ever. My wedding cake is the top 2 tiers from the cake in the movie.
I love Four Weddings and a Funeral. I've seen in so many times and never get sick of it.
Charming characters, witty dialogue, and endearing. :)
Both already mentioned, but I love Father of the Bride and My Big Fat Greek Wedding. :)
I love Bridesmaids, Father of the Bride, 27 dresses and wedding crashers =]
Wedding Crashers, for sure! Also loved 27 Dresses & Bridesmaids!
ETA: Oh, and Bride Wars!
my old time fave is defintiely My Best Friend's Wedding. But i also have an attachment to the Wedding Crashers because DH and I saw it on our first date! (a good omen perhaps to watch a wedding movie on your first date, lol) - and i find it hysterical. I also love 27 Dresses.
Hands down Father of the Bride (Steve Martin) with My Big fat greek Wedding a close second.
I know alot of people didn't like this one, but I really enjoyed, "Bride Wars". I thought it was hilarious. Usually I find wedding shows cheesy, but that one wasn't at all.
I love the wedding date. Also made of honor, sex in the city (the first one) and bride wars. :)
Not a popular choice usually, but I think American Wedding is hilarious!
I really, really like Bride Wars. A friend and I planned our weddings a month apart, and even though we didn't have any major issues, occasionally I could really relate to some of the emotions going on in that movie!
I'll go with The Wedding Singer! I was at a wedding 2 summers ago and omg, the bride sang "I wanna grow old with you" to the groom while the groom's brother played guitar. She was a terrible singer but there was not a dry eye in the room!!
Bridesmaids is really one of my favorite movies ever. Absolutely hilarious, and the friend chemistry between Annie and Lillian was perfect - so believable!
@miz fizzix: I do love The Wedding Singer, too :)
I loved My Best Friends Wedding! Other favorites would have to be Bridesmaids and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Can Sweet Home Alabama be considered a wedding movie? If so, then that is my favorite!!!!!!!!!
My big fat Greek Wedding. Easy. And though we are southern folk, not Greek, that is about how my wedding will play out, my crazy loud, huge family and his tiny quiet one.
Bride Wars! It's so bad but I can watch it over and over again and never get tired of it. I also love Wedding Crashers.
I really hated 27 Dresses and I feel like the only one in the universe who feels that way.
The Wedding Singer. I also liked Fifty First Dates.
@Kant: Just curious - why did you hate 27 Dresses? I liked it.
Can I say Steel Magnolias? I know the entire movie isn't a "wedding movie" but I love the first part surrounding the wedding.
I love The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez, Father of the Bride, 27 Dresses, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding are a few of my faves. They have to be comedies though, I can't take just straight two hours of wedding.
I love Runaway Bride and Wedding Date. Also a big fan of Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid--they count, right?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who LOVES The Wedding Singer. It's getting to the point where I know most of the dialogue. And I still get weepy when he sings the song to her on the plane...
I also loved The Hangover...I'm not sure it's your traditional wedding movie, but it kind of all surrounded a wedding and was also pretty hilarious.
@strawbabies: Steve Martin... I never saw the original, maybe I will check it out though!
I like so many, my favorite is probably runaway bride, closely followed by my best friends wedding. i also really liked father of the bride, and i havent seen bridesmaids yet, but plan on doing that this weekend, as its now on sale on DVD!
Father of the Bride (Steve Martin version, never seen the original), My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and Wedding Crashers.
And just to throw it out there because I don't think it's been mentioned yet: The Proposal - because Ryan Reynolds + Sandra Bullock = I die laughing. Two of my favorite actors, together.
I also really enjoyed Bride and Prejudice, which is a Bollywood-style adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. I wouldn't classify it as a favorite, but I thought it deserved a mention because it's really fun.
Father of the Bride is top 3!!!
Every party has a pooper thats why we invited you.... George Banks.... Party Pooper!!!
:)
Wedding Crashers for the humor and Father of the Bride (Steve Martin version) for sweetness :)
Bridesmaids for sure (I've watched it at least 3 times in the past month). Also My Best Friend's Wedding, The Wedding Singer, and Runaway Bride.

A lot of us are in the process of planning our real weddings, and I don't know about everybody else, but sometimes that puts me in the mood for a wedding movie. So, that got me wondering...what are people's favorite wedding movies?!
Mine has to be The Wedding Singer with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. I've probably seen it upwards of 20 times and am planning on indulging again this weekend.
And since it's roughly my favorite movie of all time (yes, seriously), there are a couple things I'm totally stealing from it to incorporate into my wedding. One example: at his wedding, right before Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler) finds out he's getting stood up at the altar, you hear a string quartet playing "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey.
I've been dying to do this for years, because I want to see if anybody even notices! I finally get my chance next May. :-)
