It’s a miserable day today, the sky is grey and work is dull so thinking of cooking something delicious for dinner to turn the day around.
Any suggestions? What’s food cheers you up instantly? Is it a dish from your childhood or something new you’ve discovered?
Mine would have to be pie, of any sort (gee that makes me sound like a pig lol) growing up my grandparents used to make the most amazing pies, my Nanna would make apple pies and my Poppy would make chicken curry pies. They were delicious

I love hamburger casserole. I just layer grilled hamburger, french cut green beans, slice potatoes, and a mix of cream of onion and cream of cerlery, and repeat. My family begs me to make it when it’s really ugly outside.

It’s called Chicken George. It’s a casserole with chicken, stuffing, peas, cream of chicken soup, and cheddar cheese. Sooooo good and “comfy”!

@tksjewelry: I have never heard of or seen anything like hamburger casserole!
I forgot- vegemite toast fixes everything! So that’s a big one for me too.

Mine is a bean burrito from Taco Bell. It definitely makes everything seem a little better :).

Chinese take out and ice cream. I did a lot of that while FH was in Iraq, which was a bad idea. Hoping being on WW will give me the confidence and support to NOT do that while he’s in Afghanistan so I don’t backslide after my progress for the wedding.
But give me hot and sour soup…kung pao tofu…with a ben and jerry’s chaser and I’m comforted. Especially if i’m in PJs on the sofa watching something crappy on TV:)

My own homemade chocolate chip cookie dough. (NOT the stuff from a tube.) It is SO FREAKING SATISFYING. (I’m pretty careful about where I get my eggs, so, knock on wood, no salmonella poisoning.)

Oooh, either mac and cheese or potatoes (any way you can fix them!). What can I say, I like my starches : )

French fries. I’d eat french fries before the hamburger.
