3.8
ETA: It would've been a 4.0 if one of my professors didn't hate me. Hah.
that is such a strange poll.
We dont have GPA in Europe so I have no idea what any of the numbers stand for- but surely this poll is to exhibit your own acedemic prowess and nothing more, I cant see anyone getting involved by putting up a low score??
3.85. It may slip a little this quarter though. I keep getting B's on everything! :(
My university bell curved everything sothe average GPA was a 2.0. I worked full time through my undergrad and held a 3
@cacamillis: Usually, A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, and so on. You average your grades from every class you've taken to find your grade point average.
undergrad - 2.97. (I went to a ridiculously hard school)
grad - 4.0. (the classes are so much easier than any of my undergrad.)
I'm another one who pulled out a 4.0 in grad school, with about a 3.85 in undergrad.
@cacamillis: Academic prowess isn't measured just by grades and school-- I didn't get the best grades in college but I'm now going on to get a PhD. I'm never going to look down on someone with a low GPA.
A 93% is an A in my grad program. I got at 92.4% in a class so I have one B. Oh well!
@MrsElopement: my GPA would be shot if 93 was an A, I can't imagine! I think grad school would be the same-- there's so much grade inflation there-- but undergrad would be killer.
I had a 3.81 in undergrad (Biomedical Engineering major + premed).
I have a 3.8 in my Bachelor of Science... I think it really depends on what your degree is in and your school's grading system. This may be a contraversial thing to say but I don't equate a 3.8 in social as the same as a 3.8 in sciences like bio and physiology.
@Mrs.KMM: I'm also a premed :) I was wondering if there were any others on this forum.
@blueskye: I agree, I think the program matters more than the GPA! It's tough to compare two GPAs when the rigor of the coursework is so different.
Yep- where I go, 93 is an A in most classes. Having a 4.0 is next to impossible.
Sorry, I wasn't trying to make a post focusing on showing off... I'm just trying to get an idea of average G.P.A's as I'll be competing soon to transfer to UC Berkeley and have about a 1/3 chance of getting in.
-I'm majoring in Sociology and know that there are plenty of tough degrees (I would die in pre-med or chem).
3.86 undergrad, 4.0 grad... Seems to be similar to what others are posting. As was mentioned though, it is difficult to compare different programs and schools.
I went to an unaccredited school for 2 years and.. well let's not mention that GPA, but I am maintaining a 4.0 so far as an undergraduate.
@nineteen87: Your results might be skewed since higher GPA earners might be more apt to stop in and respond.
I went to a bell curve always, 93% A, and an A only scores you a 3.8 (a+ at 97% is the full 4) and had a 3.2 gpa.
I was dean listin it until I decided to add a psych minor and it all went downhill from there. 3.6...ugh. I hate psychology professors...should've stuck to my Sociology roots and passion. (Major = 3.8)
I have a 2.9 (stupid nursing school!) and I'm okay witht that. I have B's but failed one class (pharmacology and I aren't friends), retook it but the retake isn't on my gpa, I got an A the second time! And of course for nursing school A=100-90% B=89-80& C=79-75% F= <75. I made a 74.4% and got a 0 on my gpa where normally that would have been a 2.0 for any other major. Hope to make an A in one my my classes this semester that is a 6 hour credit which should seriously help my gpa.
My undergrad GPA (Political Science major) --> 3.1
My Master's GPA (Epidemiology - Public Health) --> 3.6
My Doctorate GPA so far after 30 credits (2 full years//Epidemiology - Public Health) --> 3.80
Good thing it went up and not down lol
**And to the above poster who said this post is just to "Expose your academic prowess and nothing more".... I think anyone who does well in school deserves to show that off! No one should feel guilty about bragging about doing well in school. It's not like bragging that you are a size 2 or bragging that you are 5'10".... working hard in school is purely based on the effort you put in. If you aren't doing well in school, maybe seeing how well people are doing here will inspire others! I say...brag away everyone! I've worked mightly hard for my 3.80 in my doctorate studies!!!
I have a 3.8, but my school differentiates between A's and A-'s, so you need a 94 to get an A in a class... STUPID!!! Haha. Whatever though, I'm fine with it.
I can't vote because I can't remember... but I never had A's and B's in anything other than english.... I was the *yay I got a C* person

Mine has fluctuated between a 3.0 (once) and 4.0 (a few times) but I think my overall average is a 3.78 or so.
