Every day when I come into work I ride the elevator up 7 floors, and in that time, if I’m alone, I have the best motivation ever. One side of the elevator has standard mirrors, but the other has this weird gold reflective metal which just so happens to act as a perfect weight loss inspiration. It’s like a funhouse mirror because it basically makes you look like, 50 lbs lighter. I’ll just stand there looking at myself and thinking, “… man I look pretty good like this.” I’ve told a few people in the office about it and they agree, hahah.
So what’s your ridiculous weight loss or fitness inspiration?

- Wedding: August 2013 - Wynn Las Vegas
Every year I go to Coachella music festival, and I’m always surrounded by the young ladies in crop tops and other such adorable outfits. I already feel like the old lady at the festival, but I am pretty fit this year. My motivation is to be able to wear some hot crop top at coachella, and look fabulous!
What is also helping me is that I bought a new dress for Vegas (we are going at the end of Feb) and I want it to look SMOKIN’ on me!

One of my fitness inspirations had to do with carrying coolers. As part of my job I do water sampling, and we have to take the samples to the lab in big coolers, which when they are full of water, can be pretty heavy. When I was working out a lot and developing upper body strength, I started finding it easier and easier to carry those coolers, and that was a good motivator to keep going! Also I flexed my muscles alot for family/friends, lol.

Originally it was when my ex *spits* took up with a bar skank after almost 20 years together. I had gained a lot of weight after my daughter’s death because I was really depressed and didn’t do much of anything. I maintain my weight and fitness because at my age, I feel lousy if I don’t.

I don’t know if this is weird or not but I have a photo on my phone of me in a bikini about 20 lbs lighter than my current weight. I LOOKED SO GOOD. I gaze at it sometimes… I’m not quite there yet but after losing 30 lbs i’m a lot closer than I was!!!!

@MrsRevolutionize: On the serious side, my inspiration is in part to maintain my health. I am a Type 1 Diabetic, and have been for over 21 years now. I play in a hockey league with mostly men (1 other awesome woman plays.) So part of going to the gym is to be in shape so I am not sucking dust when the season starts up again. On the more ridiculous side, when I go to the gym, I say to my fiancee that I go so that it will be easier for me to rough up the guys who play dirty right back! I have photos of Rhonda Rousey on pinterest as my fitness inspiration as well.

My fitness inspiration is the amount of pushups I can do now! I finally have defined biceps and I’m constantly making muscles in the mirror or just to look at. It’s so stupid and vain, but I still can’t believe that they’re a product of my hard work!
(I’d also like to wear my old jeans again from when I was rail thin, but had no muscle)

This is what you’re NOT supposed to do, but I have this BEAUTIFUL pair of cream colored work pants. Oh they are divine…
I only wore them two or three times before I gained some weight and I can’t fit in them anymore, (didn’t want to ruin them by wearing them too much, but then I gained weight) but I keep them in my closet. I know you’re not supposed to entice yourself with clothes that don’t fit anymore but there ya have it!!! That and two or three cute dresses that also don’t really fit anymore haha.

@mu_t: +1. My own skinny pictures are taped to my fridge. That will make me think about what I’m going in there for!

I also use myself as inspiration! In the end, I know I’ll actually end up looking like that.

I’ve shopped in plus sizes for almost 10 years now. I want to cut up my Lane Bryant Credit Card for good! I’ve recently started being able to fit into some regular sizes, which is such a good motivator, but I still need the plus size section for pants and some shirts. So I’m still workin hard!
