I don't run, but when I'm on the elliptical, this is the last song I listen to because I'm DYING and it ALWAYS gets me through it.  So cheesy but the lyrics help me A LOT.  "Till I Collapse" by Eminem

Eminem "Lose Yourself". The PP's suggestion of "Till I Collapse" is another surefire hit.

I listen to Funky Town on repeat when I run. I find its rhythm is just perfect for maintaining the right pace (for me) and it's really long so I can listen to it all the way through and then turn around and run back when it starts again.

During the last 5 mins of my elliptical workout, I listen to "Enter Sandman" by Metallica so I don't b*tch-out and quit :) It works!

Right now, it's Matchbox 20s Put Your Hands Up. I love the beat and I love the band, it just makes me smile when it comes on and I know I'm running a little faster because of it.

I like fast paced songs or ones I can sing too when I run. I prefer anything Soca or reggage but it sometimes makes me want to dance instead of run lol

I'm slightly ashamed of this but oh well: Smack My Bitch Up by the Prodigy. The pace is just perfect for my jogging tempo. Other than that, Britney seems to have a lock on my workout music because I think it's still 1999 and I'm in 8th grade rocking out to her.

I love this thread! I like "Lose Yourself" also..it keeps me going.

My other favorite is "Valerie" by Amy Whinehouse/The Zutons but the Glee version is a little peppier (as they are to be), so I like that better for when I'm running.  Those little beats start up at the beginning and my feet just want to start moving!

I have a bunch! Lately, I've been skipping through in my workout playlist for:

    • Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine
    • Word Forward by Foo Fighters
    • Bleed American by Jimmy Eat World
    • Flesh and Bone by The Killers
    • When They Come for Me by Linkin Park

I need to create a playlist just for running, though, because my general workout list has far too many slower and/or noninspirational songs that I just get zero inspiration from.

"Till I Collapse" by Enimiem (hubby and I both blast this when we work out)

"Ugly" by Bubba Sparxxx (seriously kick-ass)

"Dirt off your shoulder" by Jay-Z (because it makes me feel like a pimp)

I wish I had my iPod with me because I have a 70-song workout playlist but I can't seem to remember any of them right now. Grrr...

My "power song" on my ipod is Eye of the Tiger. I usually turn it on when I'm trying to run up a hill. I hate hills!

I'm a bit off the wall with running music. I like hard rock/industrial/dance music when I run.

    - If you're into a little bit of industrial, Combichrist's 'This @$(* Will @$(* You Up'. I actually got the suggestion off of a running board and besides the slightly sexually explicit lyrics, it has an awesome beat.

    - Nine Inch Nails! Just Like You Imagined is my tired song. I never, ever stop running during that song. Such an epic buildup. I'm getting chills just thinking about it. Pilgrimage is my hills song. All the gnashing helps me get up those hills!

    - If you want to feel a little bit like you ended up in the gayborhood's hottest bar, Industry's Release Me (Peter Rauhofer's Reconstruction) is awesome!

    - And believe it or not, Beyonce's 'Diva'. Yes, oh yes. Birthday twin has got nothing on me when I'm running!

I agree with a lot of PPs:  "Til I Collapse" "Bleed American" "Stronger"

Here are a few of mine:

"Jump" by Flo Rida and Nelly Fertado

"Want U Back" by Cher Lloyd

    "Ass" by Big Sean (dirty)

"Knock Out" by Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj (dirty)

"Teeth" by Lady Gaga. She repeats, "Show me your teeth," and it really makes me dig in, grit my teeth, and push through!

There are some great songs here, I'm adding them to my playlist. Definitely agree with "Stonger" and "Teeth".
It's a bit weird but "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood always keeps me going when I think I'm going to give up, the beat isn't that great for running but it's a song I always put on when I need motivation to do anything.  Also -

    - "White Wedding" (The Deathstar's version)

    - "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga

    -  "Take It Easy" by The Eagles, love the first line!

    - "Firework" by Katy Perry

I can't remember what else is on my playlist, having a brain-frazzle today, I'll have to check when I get home.
