I spent $200, but I got blue flats that I’m planning to wear PLENTY post-wedding

I have two pairs; a pair of Choos, at $500, and a pair of Ginas at around $400. The Ginas should have cost $700, and we would have paid that, but got a deal.

I am a big shoe person, and there was never a chance I was going to wear non-designer shoes on my wedding day. Plus both pairs are in silver, and will be worn many times after the wedding, for years to come. To me, it made more sense to splurge on the shoes, which can be worn again, than the dress, which will be worn once.

I just posted about this disaster on my blog, but I had no budget and ended up spending, with all said and done, about $350 for three pairs of shoes. I bought cowboy boots ($160+tax), some gorgeous nine west heels ($100+tax) and rhinestone flip flops ($50+tax).

I think the most I was willing to spend was $150 on a pair of shoes and the boots were a birthday gift from my FI.

Those are gorgeous! That being said…I don’t think I have ever spent more than $30 on shoes!

I spent £65, and they’re definitely shoes I’ll dye and be able to wear after the wedding.

I am also a huge shoe person and I am wearing desinger shoes. (I actually bought two different pair of Jimmy Choo’s)  Both will be worn again after the wedding, since they are not white.

I couldn’t vote because while my budget was not unlimited (ie no Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin) I did spend $500

I ended up getting a deal on Stuart Weitzmans for $75.  I still look at other shoes, but I can’t justify spending too much on something I won’t wear again.  That said, I totally think you could wear those shoes again- with jeans, skirts, whatever- if you’re normally a high heel person.

my budget was “as inexpensive as possible”

i needed my shoes so i could get a custom measurement and ended up with a pair which i ended up regretting. (stupid david’s bridal…)

so that was $40 out the window…

then i got new ones for $60. so i failed at sticking to my budget

My budget for dress, alterations and accessories (including shoes) is a flexible $4000 (as in if I wanted I could probably push it up to $5000 if need be). I found a dress that I LOVE that the Knot says is a $$ dress, so $600-1500. I’ve found a veil and headpiece online that I like for a total of $100. If I end up with the dress I found online, I’ll be getting a sash, so probably another $100 there I’m guessing alterations would be less than $500 on my dress, so even assuming that the dress is on the high end, that still leaves me with about $1800 for shoes. I’ll probably end up spending less than $1000 on shoes, and will be getting 2 pairs, one pair of gorgeous designer shoes, and a pair of more ‘sensible’ shoes, but both pairs will be shoes that I’ll for sure wear after the wedding.

My shoes are from DSW and only cost $39.99 Smile  I was never one to buy Choos or some really expensive brand.

I hope to keep it around $100 or less, but I will spend more if I find some I really love.

I spent only $40 on my shoes!  They were on sale for half price.  I LOVE them!
