Is everyone still walking down the aisle to the traditional piano/instrumental song or are you changing it up? iI'm debating if I should do this or change it up.
I will be changing it up. I want a song everyone will remember so it will probably be something a bit more upbeat, but I don't know what song yet.
I think I am going to walk to " Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban... love that song!
Vitamin String Quartet's "Dare you to move". I'm so excited!
I walked to somewhere over the rainbow hawaiin version. i also got married on the beach but there was an ailse runner.
Fi is walking down to "The Imperial March" (darth vader theme)
I will be walking down to "The Throne Room" (the song at the end of Star Wars when they are getting their medals)
I entered to the theme from Love Actually, called the Portuguese Love Theme, rearranged for string quartet. My husband picked it out, and he was bawling before I even came in!

I really like the idea of changing things up a bit! I will be walking down to "Dream" By: Priscilla Ahn. So dreamy.... i'm excited!
i am walking down the aisle to Songbird by Eva Cassidy, and we will both walk out to Over the Rainbow....Izzi version
I want to walk down to a piano/cello instrumental of Taylor Swift's Love Story and Coldplay's Viva la Vida. It's beautiful, and it's not too obviously popular, current songs.
Vitamin String Quartet's version of "The Only Exception". The string arrangement is beautiful.
Our string trio will be playing Radiohead as I walk down the aisle. Still not sure what song yet but have a few on my short list :)
I'm walking down to the Vitamin String Quartet's version of Bryan Adam's "Everything I Do I Do It For You", which was what my parents danced to for their first dance at their wedding. :)
"Show You Love" By Jars of Clay.
Personally, I think its the most perfect, non-tradition song EVER...but thats my opinion only
Listen to it!
I really would love to walk down to Defying Gravity from Wicked but since we have a harpist I think I am going to walk down to Pachelbel's Canon and walking back together to Time to Say Goodbye
I walked down to Vitamin String Quartet's version of U2's With or Without You. Most of our ceremony music was Vitamin String quartet and we loved it!
Because we didn't get married in a church we were not limited on our song choices. My bridal party walked down the aisle to the ukulele version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I walked down the aisle to "Marry Me" by Train. Our recessional was Keith Urban's "Better Life".
I'll be walking to "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by Smashing Pumpkins (original version off the CD, our DJ will handling ceremony music)
They're one of my favourite bands from my teens, I've seen them live twice,
Also, FH plays on my first name all the time calling me "Melancholy",
Plus it's one of the first songs that I learned to play on the piano (which he bought me for my 30th birthay).
Our was "Here, There and Everywhere" by the Beatles, as performed on guitar (and sung) by one of our very best friends.
My bridesmaids walked down to the traditional Canon in D and I walked down to Brown Eyed Girl :) I believe it was the Vitamin String Quartet version.
I've been thinking about this a lot recently. And since we're doing our wedding at a baseball field we're doing walk up songs. And everyone gets to pick their own song. So it'll be pretty short clips. And they can dance in (as long as it doesn't offend the 2 great grandmothers and 2 grandmothers there).
But I've been thinking mine is going to be The Band Perry - All Your Life. I get goosebumps just thinking about the song.
I walked down to "Somewhere over the rainbow" the hawaiian version live. It was perfect for our small outdoor ceremony!
"Can't Help Falling in Love with You" - Elvis Presley version... To be played on the piano by my brother. :)
all these songs are sooo beautiful! I'm so glad I'm not the only one who is not sticking with the traditional "walking down the aisle" song. Thank you all for your comments.
@PetuniaPickleBottom: I always wondered who sang this song... very dreamy!! It's going to be a tearjerker... Love it!
I walked down to "Tangled Up in You" by Staind....it's acoustic and so pretty!
I'm thinking the instrumental to "Two is Better Than One" or "Love Story" by Taylor Swift
I think I want to do an instrumental version of "What a Wonderful World" to walk down the aisle.
When we walk out I want to do Smashmouth's "I'm a Believer".
But I don't know that I'll stick with that plan yet.
Wow.. I hadn't thought about it yet!
The first song that pops into my head when I think of me and FI is Journey-Don't Stop Believin'.
When we were still friends but were strongly developing feelings for each other, we were spending a lot of time together (but mostly with other people around).
I had a party at my house one weekend and he came with one of his friends. At the end of the night, there was a group of 6 of us left hangin at about 4 a.m. We all decided to go to this tiny greasy spoon diner and get some cheeseburgers. They still had the tiny tabletop jukeboxes and we played Don't Stop Believin'. We were all serenading and I remember singing to him, looking in his eyes, and melting.
So as silly as it sounds, that song has lots of meaning to me :) I don't think it would be a bad thing to do a fun instrumental on that.
@rosworms: I think that is awesome! I've always talked about walking down to the Imperial March but I never had the guts to do it for real
I am walking down the asile to Pachabell meets U2 by Jon Schmidt and our processional will be "the Throne room" by Vitamin string quartet
Both of our processional songs were Death Cab for Cutie songs, arranged and recorded on piano by MOH's boyfriend (a music composition student).
The mothers/bridal party entered to "Passenger Seat", and I came in to "I Will Follow You Into the Dark".
The latter is what DH and I would consider "our song", but the lyrics would def. confuse people who hadn't heard it before (a love song that's also mentions dying and religious alienation...), so we couldn't use it as a first dance song.... this way, we still got to have "our song", but to everyone else it was just "Oh, pretty piano song"
@Vegas Pug: I love that idea. Marry me by Train.. Its so cute. If we didnt have a string trio, I'd have that kind of music. Heck, maybe we could have them learn a song like this ;)
i'm boring.. =P i want the traditional wedding march.. allthough ours might be played on the acoustic guitar, which at first I wasn't very fond of that idea until I heard it today it sounded very pretty.
