You know it's love when your he (or she) does something strange and suddenly it's the cutest thing in the world. What little things does your fiance or husband (or fiancee or wife) do that the world would think are crazy but you find totally endearing?
My husband started singing me a song yesterday in this horrible warbling voice. He sounded like Scuttle from The Little Mermaid in the "Kiss the Girl" scene. I thought it was hysterical. I definitely picked the right guy :).
What a good idea for a post. We can all re-read it whenever our SO's are driving us bananas and remember why we love them! ![]()
My fiance has a singing habit too. He always makes up his own words to songs on the radio (or to his own tune in his head) about whatever is going on around us at that moment. i.e. traffic jams, random people he sees, cooking dinner. He's got a really good voice and he comes up with the funniest lyrics. The cutest part about it is that he is not even trying to be cute, its a totally subconcious thing.
My FI loves to get up super early on Christmas morning and get me out of bed too. He wants to put on some Christmas tunes, light the fire, get the Bailey's and coffee going, and open presents! Just like a kid...minus the alcohol. :)
hmmm he used to do this all the time but hasn't as much recently, but he would make up and sing songs to smokey the cat!
My Fi sings, too! Like aloweha's fiance, my guy makes up lyrics to whatever song he's listening to. I especially think it's cute when he puts my name or our dogs' names into the song. Or lately he's been changing every song he hears into a "stalker anthem." Hehehehe.
Also, he likes to stay up late in bed and chat. I call these times "Slumber Parties at Camp Giggles-a-lot," and tease him about being more girly than I am, but I secretly love it.
My hubby leaves his dirty dishes on top of the dishwasher instead of inside.....oh wait thats no cute. At all. :) BUT what is cute is when our dog gets excited (like when we get home from work) his tail wags so fast his whole butt shakes so sometimes my hubby will greet me or the dog by wagging his butt when one of us gets home from work. I laugh everytime.
My FI talks to my stomach all the time, regardless if im feeling great or sick. He calls it my "tum tum." He'll pick up my shirt and say stuff like "did you get enough to eat tum tum" or " how are you doing today tum tum" this drives me CRAZY!!! He is also obsessed with giving me strawberries! It all totally drives me nuts but I suppose its kinda cute
LOL!
These are adorable!! My FI is a neat freak and is obsessed with keeping the bed made. He makes it in the morning no matter what...even if I am still in it! If he leaves before me, he tucks the sheets in all around me and pulls the comforter up, etc. It used to bug me but now I think it's cute. Also, if he wakes up in the middle of the night and notices I've thrown the covers or sheets off, he pulls them back up and tucks me in again. It always semi-wakes me up, and even though it's 1/2 part of his mild OCD, I know it's also 1/2 his way of caring that I'm warm. It's one of the cuter parts of his neatness habit!!
A lot of replies are about singing! My FI sings to his cat. I think it's adorable because the cat is rather old and basically lounges around all day. So when it's meal time, FI has to wake him up and usually tries to give him some sort of interest, petting, playing, etc. It's sweet. I'm not really an animal person, but I love to see this!
My bf (we're not engaged yet
) loves to just hold my armpit! He always wants to do it, whether we are laying on the couch watching tv, driving in the car, doing whatever, he always tries to reach for it. And when I ask him why the heck he does it, he just tells me that he loves just to "hold" me. It cracks me up and I love it, but I really do think it's kinda gross.
Ha well timed post! Boyfriend does this thing when his hair is long that always makes me smile. He'll shake his head from left to right really fast like a shaggy dog shaking off extra water. He gets this gleeful look on his face when he does it that cracks me up and melts my heart a little bit. I love seeing the little boy in him.
There are a lot of cute/dorky things that he does. But recently, it's been when he talks to our puppy in this gentlest voice. And there was this one time, he was dressed in full orange clothing (his fave teams' colors), ironing his work clothes while singing out loud with his ipod. When he noticed me looking at him, he started dancing and swaying. Dorky, but oh so adorable! :)
I think it is really cute that he makes a chewing sound (num num num) when he is falling asleep. It sounds like he is dreaming about food (which he probably is : )
Probably that he cannot fall asleep if he thinks I am at all upset with me. He'll toss and turn until he or I break down and discuss why I'm annoyed. I do like that he is so concerned with my feelings, but sometimes I feel I need a night to sleep on things before discussing them.
I love it when he's in a business meeting he texts me a sweet note. it's like a kid passing notes in school. He's 100 percent work when he's there, but he'll shoot me a little text like "are you having a good day cupcake?" and it makes me smile.
He also gets the late night munchies. Sometimes he'll make pasta at like 1 am..or he'll go eat cereal and a glass of orange juice. He also does the talk in bed thing..and we'll be trying to go to zzz and sometimes it's like 1 am before we can (on weekends when we're childless).
FI has this irritatingly cute habit of tickling me when I'm in a bad mood because it puts me in a better mood, but I don't want to be in a better mood (at the time). Afterwards I feel better though, so I think it's cute. Also, he sings in the car to EVERYTHING (because he knows a lot of different songs) and I enjoy listening to him.
what a cute thread....reading all these make me smile a lot.
My FH does a lot of cute things for me. He will cover me up at night if I have thrown the covers off of myself because he doesn't want me to get cold. He always insists I eat first after we cook dinner. He is just always trying to make sure I am comfortable.
Sometimes when he is feeling playful and I just want a kiss... he will suck n his lips so I am not really kissing his lips. It used to annoy me at first, now its just a good reason for both of us to laugh and then start a tickle fight.
He gets home from work at 5am & when our cat hears him opening the front door he runs downstairs for "breakfast with Daddy". I hear him talking to Jack as he's taking off his boots & then in the kitchen when he's getting out the Fancy Feast. It always makes me smile to hear his deep voice having a full-on conversation with our lil' silly kitty.
omg monalisa, i totally hear you. my husband is the same way. he'll fix the bed even when i'm still in it. when i use to sleep by myself, i never made my bed. So my blanket would roll up into a ball from never "fluffing" it out. i see the light now. =)
i find him cute when he calls me with little endearments: me little______ (different endearments) it's very sweet and cute
@ tripps- that is awesome! I will tell my FI he has a long lost twin who makes the bed while his wife is still in it, too.. we definitely thought he was the only one goofy enough to do that!!
has anyone seen this youtube? i thought it was so touching

i guess it should go in the annoying s.o. habit thread but i'm too lazy to find it.
My fiance's cute habit is eating everything with chopsticks, well almost everything. He eats noodles, rice, steak! eggs, pasta! He's weird, lol. But it's cute :)
He talks in his sleep. He'll say how much he loves me and how special I am to him ![]()
My FI rubs his eyes like a little kid when he's really tired.... it doesn't sound cute now that I'm typing this, but everytime he does it it melts my heart a little.
Mr. FF hums after the end of a sentence on everything. "how was you day hum?" i love you love bug hum. When we first started dating it drove me crazy now I don't even notice it as much.
When my fiancé get out of the shower he towels off like Donald Duck... as in he squats, sticks out his backside, and rapidly moves the towel back and forth. I laughed hysterically the first time I saw it and he didn't understand why... turns out he really did learn how it from the cartoon and had never noticed that no one else does it.
Also, when we first started dating and I would spend the night I used to constantly wake up to him poking me. It was driving me nuts that I couldn't get a full night's sleep so I finally asked him about it- he said he just wanted to make sure I was still there because he worried he had dreamt it. Similarly, to this day if I ever fall asleep in the car against the window I always wake up to him compulsively locking the door because he's worried I'm going to fall out.
@ DilemmaBride - that's hilarious - i am totally picturing it in my mind! my Fi is the cutest ever. my most favorite thing is that we have 'dance parties' - just the two of us. we put on our favorite songs and dance and dance. we do funny moves, romantic moves and athletic moves ;-) it is so much fun. i totally love that he is silly with me. i am sure i am not alone by saying that.
My husband always says to me "If you're happy, I'm happy". It used to drive me crazy because I would want or need his opinion on something. Now, I realize - after five years - that he actually means it. He has a beaming smile if I do.
My dog will lay his back standing up and rub his head against my hubby's chest. My hubby will hold my dogs stomach and fall asleep. It's like holding a baby....I find it so adorable. ![]()
The most annoying habit is when I cuddle up againist my hubby on the couch. He would scratch my head. It's so annoying...but I know that it's his way of telling me he loves me :)
When we make dinner together he always cranks up the tunes and when a great song comes on we always dance together. We laugh and twirl and dip and he never seems to notice that I'm a terrible dancer.
My fiance has a lot of incredibly cute habits, but the cutest is when he talks to the cats. We have two cats (well, they're HIS cats, since he's had them for nearly ten years since they were kittens, but by now I consider them my cats too), and he talks to them in this kind of baby-talk-like voice, and then he responds for the cats in a higher-pitch voice, effectively having a conversation with himself but pretending it's the cats talking back to him. He makes a different voice for each cat, according to their personalities, and it's just adorable. Other times he just calls the cats' names in specific tones that sound like their meows, and the cat he's talking to responds with a meow imitating the pitch of his voice. Super cute :)
oh my god... azula I am your fiance - I have conversations with my dogs and cats (and random pets I see on the street) and they all have different voices. My fiance acts like its annoying, maybe secretly he thinks I am cute!
My FI makes up silly (asinine, really) words to songs on the radio. It's a little annoying when he does it to songs that I like, but his lyrics always make me laugh. We were stuck in traffic for over two hours one time and he kept me laughing the whole time!
When holding hands, he randomly squeezes my hand 3 times. After the first year or so of dating I never took notice to it, but one day I did and asked him - "why do you do that?!" he said when he was a kid his Grandma (who was very close to him, but has since passed) would do that to him, the 3 sqeezes were a slient way to say *squeeze* I * squeeze* LOVE *squeeze* YOU It's adorable! I melt whenever he does it now - which is quite often :)
FI sings to me too. He likes to sing "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole. ("L" is for the way you look at me, "O" is for the only one I see...)
And another thing is that he's really ticklish on his sides and we'll be sitting there and I'll say "I'm going to getcha" and he tenses up, and he says in a childish voice "Don't get me!" I just think it's cute and makes me smile EVERY time!
Oh, and yesterday morning, I went over to his house (before I went to work) and he was asleep. He was snoring up a storm. I tippie-toed into his room, and ran my nails under his arm, tickling him just a little bit. He let out a big snore, followed by a "hee hee hee" in his sleep. It was everything I could do to keep from laughing out loud, and waking him up.
I would have to say when he annoys the kitties. He puts one hand on either side of their bottoms and shakes their little butts while they try to walk or just be haha. It's also really cute when he nuzzles their little faces with his face. It's really a soft side you would never pin a someone who is trained to kill for a living for.
My fiance scares so easily, sometime I find myself sneaking around a corner and jumping out, especially in public. You can here the "BABY!" screamed like a little girl for miles.
