Well my colors are black and pink, and the theme I guess you could say is two things, squares - everything is square from the invites to the cake and the favors, and "Bling" is the other theme. Sparkle will be added to everything from the invites, to the escort cards, table names, cake topper - everything.
NJ Shore meets the Ct Farm. We both want a shore/light house themed wedding because we spend so much time there. Our first date was spent climbing the stairs at Barneget Light on Long Beach Island, in NJ and we spend as much time as possible at the shore, winter and summer. Yet we want our wedding on my family's farm in Connectivut because we bothe love the country as well. If we're not at the shore we are in the mountains of PA or the Mountianous farmland of CT. So we have decided to have a "Beach Wedding on the Farm". this may seem a bit odd but we think it will be a lot of fun.
Swirls! Swirls everywhere!! hmm..the pics didn't show up. Anyway, they are modern (his design preference) but also traditional (my design preference)...it was a good compromise I thought.
colors are navy + pink (all shades) + ivory. i guess theme is modern loft wedding with lots of dots!
My fiance and I are both of Irish descent (back pretty far but still). So, I found the tartan for the county his family is from and used that as the inspiration for our colors: White, Hunter Green and Chocolate Brown. We're also using the Celtic trinity symbol as a theme and I've designed two monograms, both involving circles. It's a combination of modern, casual and rustic. I'm really hoping it'll all combine well.
Orange - but not all over the place- just pops of it!
The invited featured the color orange and had a very old spanish florida feel (from weddingpaperdivas).
I guess technically our theme is Old Florida. With the orange, spanish style swirls, florida cuisine, Mojitos, our location is a 200 yr old spanish home in st. aug.
My colors are brown and lilac. And my dress has all these little pearls and rhinestones on it. So I'm planning to incorporate little pearls and rhinestones in my centerpieces and cake to match my dress. So that's my theme. I don't think anyone but me will link the two together tho. lol.
We have a fall theme with traditional of autumn colors, although my BM dresses will be aubergine (eggplant) - my favorite color is purple. Using silk leaves instead of rose petals in details for decoration. Invitation fatures leaves with "fall in love" printed on the cardstock part w/ velum insert with actual invitation printed on it in brown lettering. Since we are marrying on "Sweetest Day" coincidentally, we are also incorporating "sweets" here and there, i.e. chocolate fountain in addition to traditional wedding cake and chocolate kisses and chocolate leaves in organza bags for favors.
Our theme is Simple Southern Garden Party. Our attendants are wearing black and ivory with punches of silver in the decorations and maybe light blue. We are really trying to play up the garden part, but I am having a hard time with decorations.
Our theme is Country-Western. The groomsmen are wearing black boots with their tuxes. We'll have longnecks in troughs, and the menu includes pulled pork and potato salad. We also booked an awesome band. The linens will be dark blue denim with a red gingham overlay, and the flowers will include lots of sunflowers and daisies.
Deep red and pale green for colors and our theme was Elegant BBQ and fun with a subtle (as in only my and my guy knew about it) them of Christmas in July.
damask meets contemporary.
damask and pearls + fuschia + diff shades of blue + gray
our theme is travel and we're actually doing hot pink and lime green for our colors. Each table will have a different centerpiece in our colors based on a city around the world along with a black and white photo of us in the country (we're faking most of them at Epcot when we next go there on vacation). Our card box will be a vintage suitcase and our placecards are luggage tags. We may also do a bride and groom on a suitecase or plane for our cake topper.
Colors along the lines of ...
orange - tangerine - fuschia - hot pink
Following a cherry blossom theme with our paper stuff.. =D
My colors are Turquoise and Yellow -- it is a DAISY themed wedding -- white shasta daisies and yellow gerberas! Very simple, outdoor summer wedding. :-)
we don't have a theme per se... but we have a motif of swirls on all our paper goods, colors are navy blue and cornflower blue, with silver swirls. :)
My guy picked one word and I picked one word. He picked "Sweet" and I picked "Simple"
So "Sweet and Simple" it is :)
The combination of Southern and Russian culture! So, think vodka/bourbon bar; blini and caviar and shrimp and grits. Vintage Kentucky postcards for the STD and invite to give guests a glimpse into our wedding on my grandparents' Kentucky farm. Incorporating a lot of antiques into the decor since my grandfather restores them, so hanging muslin curtains and a wrought iron chandelier in the barn that we'll get married in front of. Antique copper on the tables and bar.
Our theme is spring/cherry blossoms because we're going to Japan for our honeymoon. :) Our colors are dark brown and ivory, with splashes of pink, to mirror the branches and the various colored blossoms of the cherry blossom tree.
I haven't ironed out any details, but it's leaning toward yard party Texas history style, only without the hoe-down! The primary color will be navy (a must for our nautical lifestyle) with either soft pink or yellow details.
A whimsical and enchanted wedding in the forest with a bohemain nouveau vintage flair. Dusty shades of melon and apricot with hints of lavender for the ceremony surrounded by redwood trees, as well as an outdoor reception in a meadow in early August. In the evening, I'm going into cold tones and turning the barn into an underwater dark starry mermaid theme with rich purples, blues and green.
I'm so excited!
Oh, these were so much fun to read! You gals have awesome ideas!
Originally, I wanted to do a "four elements" theme - wind, water, earth, and fire, but when I went to search for that kind of theme, I pulled up a lot of Wiccan worship stuff, and decided in the end, I just wanted simple, nature/rustic elements. In a way, you can still find the four elements - birds (air), a lot of greenery (earth), river rocks and floating candles (water), and more candles (fire)...
It's kind of a combination of "rustic elegance" meets "vintage with a modern twist." It's a May wedding with green and blue focal colors and splashes of all other colors. My dress has some sparkle to it, and I loooove rhinestone brooches, so those are making their appearance into it, too.
glittergrl,
Just reading your post above mine, your wedding sounds fantastic! I'd love to see any inspiration you have just because it's so intriguing!
linnealein at yahoo.com
@glittergrl- your wedding sounds amazing !!! Kinda what I"m thinking except the forest part, I wish i wold have thought of that.
I'm still thinking about my detaisl but from all the pictures and stuf I've gathered on the internet and cut ot from magazines a midsummer night's dream/ alice in wonderland feel to it.HA!!! Whimsical and organic lol Enchanted garden?
I feel crazy...I hope i can come p with an inspiration boards to better explain.
I'm thinking- flower girls in fluffy dresses( almost tutu looking- but not) and carrying sparklers
BM's in flowy long dresses in dusty rose
GM's in silvery/greyish vest, pants and skinny ties
fantasy! colors are purple, silver, and black!
We're having the wedding party come in costume (complete with weaponry, mwahahahahaha!). I'm wearing an underbust corset with my wedding gown and will be changing into a medieval-type gown later. My FI will be in his costume throughout.
the boys (my son and two nephews) will be in monk-type robes, my daughter will be a princess, and probably my niece as well (flower girls, btw).
It's gonna be an outside wedding in the spring, so hopefully everything will be blooming, too!
guests are encouraged to wear costumes, but don't have to, but NO formal clothing is wanted!
There will be either foam or inflatable swords for kids and adults to play with (who doesn't like sword fights? :P)
it'll be a buffet, sit wherever you want style reception with music/dj and dancing for those who want to.
favors are shot glasses, coasters with our logo, and custom d20 dice! woot! I get my dice!!! LOL!
Colors: Navy, hot pink, light pink
Recurring themes: Gerbera daises, black lace accents, possibly quatrefoils?
Ours is a romantic evening. The ceremony is in the gardens and then we have this rotunda area inside where we will have dinner. The ceiling is a dome that will have lights on it to look like stars and the string quarette will be playing. The venue is a museum.. so we want it to be elegant and relaxed! After dinner we move to the bar and dancing area for cake and party time! We will have a coffee bar and live band along with 4 different signature drinks!
Our colors are french blue, silver and touches of purple and buttercream.
our theme is anything to do with the beach and summer. i am debating with just making it a tropical beach theme also. i am using ocean blue and seafoam green as my colors with a coral or sand accent. i plan to have a seashell decorated cake and topper. my centerpeices will have sand, water, seashells, candles, etc. i keep going back and forth between tropical or lake michigan with lighthouses and salboats, rocks, etc. not sure yet
