LOL see my post from a few minutes ago. I'm in the same boat and I only have a week before I need final numbers. I hate people sometimes.

Yup, I am almost there with you mermaid! RSVP date is this THursday (the 5th), we have around 25 missing cards and have not received any RSVP cards in the mail since last Thursday! SO frustrating!

Wow!  Our RSVP date isn't until the 18th of this month and we are getting married on the 5th.  Those are really early RSVP deadlines, are you caterers just really anxious to know numbers that early?

We mailed out 68 invitations and got slightly over 30 reply cards back. The only reasonable explaination I can think of is that putting a pre-paid reply card in the mail is too hard.

@Curlysue: My RSVP date is the 5th of August. It states in the catering contract that I signed that final numbers must be submitted 10 days before our event. I felt most comfortable having a couple of weeks to track people down and it made sense to send out the invites early because we had a lot of OOT guests invited.

@Curlysue: Our RSVP date is the 20th and we're getting married on the 5th as well.

We actually have to let the caterer know on the 20th the final headcount but I figure we'll just start tracking people down on the 16th (chances are if they haven't sent their RSVP back by then they're not going to).

My RSVP date is the 20th.  I sent out invites early last week. I am REALLY hoping that I do not have the same problem. Why is dropping a prepaid envelope in the mail so difficult!??!

I feel your pain. My fiance had to tell me not to make a list of the late/non-repliers so that, should they get married, I can retaliate. He said it was petty :P

@Mermaid1082:I feel your pain.  I'd be celebrating if I was only missing 58 responses though ... our RSVP date has passed and we're still waiting to hear back from 98 people.  That's more than half the people we invited.

    Ouch!

I am so glad that it's not just my friends and family that are remedial at mailing pre-stamped items.

Oh wow, I guess it just depends on the catering company.  Our caterer wants the numbers by the 30th of this month.

I know people suck at returning RSVPs and I don't get it.  Hope everyone gets some relief with help to call people!

Seriously!!  How hard is it to write your name on a piece of paper and say if you are coming or not... It is pre-paid!  I still have 100-ish outstanding people... my RSVP date is not for another 2.5 weeks but still!

@SapphireSun: If you were referring to why that posted 3 times, I'm not sure what I did...

but, if you're referring to our RSVP situation, we called them all.  Sucks, because I was hoping to keep our RSVP cards, and I only ever got about 20 out of 60 physical cards back.  AND wasted 25 bucks on unused postage.  Grr....

On the front page of our wedding website I put a disclaimer that if I did not receive an RSVP card by the date on the card, that the people sans cards will be assumed to not be coming.  But I'm a jerk.  And my date is soon approaching, so maybe I will change my mind.

And, I mean, seriously? I put a frinkin' stamp on the card for you? You can't put it back in your mailbox for the mailman to pick up?

Our deadling is this Saturday and we still have nearly 100 RSVPs outstanding (not just individuals either - so about 150 people we still need to hear from). My dad is going to be making a lot of calls, because the majority is from his side of the family :-)

my RSVP date is for 09/01. I mailed the invites on 08/14. Now I'm thinking was 2 weeks really enough time for ppl to RSVP, They are all local, firends and fmaily no OOT guests! but I gave my self 1 week to hunt ppl down to make sure i have my head count in by 09/11 (deadline set by venue)

    Wedding date 09/25

Wow really!  I think by a week before the wedding I had maybe 5 outstanding.  I pretty much just talked to them dbefore the rsvp date though and got it worked out.  Still have those couples though that say "well i'm coming but i'm not sure about a date.  Just put me down for two."  AUUGGGH!!! Major pet peeve! People do not understand the expenses and etiquette behind weddings.

ours were due august 15th, and we had a 50/50 response rate... grr.  but even the people who rsvp'ed on time are giving me problems... one couple even called my mother to tell her that since we "reserved 3 seats" for them, and their daughter "is only 2 and won't eat much", they're bringing their 12 year old niece as well... um... no!  you can't do things like that, people!

the rsvps honestly are such a frustrating part of wedding planing, especially for us detail-oriented, need to do everything ourselves ahead of time kind of wedding planners!
