We haven't put much thought into our honeymoon yet other than the fact that we are going to Paris.  We've both gone without each other and it's one of our favorite cities in the world.  We also plan on bringing our wedding attire with us and getting portraits done in front of scenic spots (eg. Eiffel Tower!).  I'm just wondering when everyone else plans on going on their honeymoon, if they plan on having one?

I didn't vote because we're doing a mini-moon and a real honeymoon later. The mini-moon will be a few days after the wedding, up to northern MN, and the honeymoon will be at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico in January, if all goes as planned. We would've done the resort in August too, but turns out that's the region's "intense rainy season" and traveling there isn't advised. :(

P.S. Paris in your wedding attire sounds so awesome!

Our wedding is going to be probably a week before the semester starts back up again, plus it will be High Season in St. Lucia, where we're going, meaning it would cost us over double the amount to rent the villa we're staying at if we went right after our wedding, instead of putting it off till the summer as we plan to.  So 2-6 mos. for us (it will probably be right around the 6 month mark).  But I think we will probably go on a two or three-day long "mini-moon" somewhere on the east coast right after our wedding.

Our wedding is on a Saturday, so I'm counting on Sunday for recovery, Monday for tidy up, sort out & thank you cards, Tues for packing and Wednesday for go!

We are getting married in october and we are planning a big trip to Europe or India next year. For that reason we decided to save up some money, as we are paying for our wedding ourselves, this sounded like a great plan. Although "all inclusive" trip to Mexico sounds really good too!

We're marrying on Halloween and I am in sales. Work for me during that time is super busy since the Holidays are just around the corner. We're going on our honeymoon in Feb during Valentines Day....By doing this we're also saving a good amount of $$ which is always exciting, LOL

We aren't going to the wedding directly after, we are going to take some time to just be a happy married couple, and so I think we are just going to do some relaxing first, and then he is going to take time off of work about 2-3 weeks after our wedding, and then we plan on going to our honeymoon destination. We are fascinated with Italy, and really think that is where we plan to go.

    :)

We're leaving almost three weeks after the wedding. I needed some time to recover from the wedding planning, rest, shop and pack for the trip. Before the wedding I seriously didn't have time to focus on anything else between that and long hours at work.

We left the day after the wedding, which was sooo nice. We were so ready to get away and spend some quality time with each other by the time of the wedding!

We are doing a mini-moon immediately after. Staying at a fancy B&B a few hours away in somewhere scenic & isolated. We are not doing a honeymoon because we just returned from a 3-month backpacking trip of Asia that was quite expensive and fulfilling enough where we don't feel the need to.

We are having alot of family fly into town for the weekend so we are leaving on the Monday right after.  We will have a brunch with the family on Sunday to spend as much time with the family as possible.

Mini-moon right after then a honeymoon during the winter. For one thing I don't want to plan anything else right now. Second, Colorado is an amazing place to be in August and I have no desire to go elsewhere. Between December and February I'll be dying to get out of the cold. We'll probably go to Belize again.

I practically could have written your post!!  We're also planning on going to Paris (right after our wedding).  We'll have having a second wedding reception in Germany for my FI's family a week after our actual wedding date, so we're going to stop in Paris en route.  And since we're going to have our attire with us, we're planning on getting some photos done also!

Have you found a photographer by any chance?

We are pretty much leaving right after the wedding. School will be starting soon after the wedding and FH only gets two weeks vacation time, so he will be taking his vacation right before the wedding and after for the honeymoon.

We had another ceremony/reception two weeks after the wedding and went on our honeymoon five days after that - it was nice to stretch it all out!  And we definitely needed the vacation by then!

We will be going on our honeymoon a week after the wedding. On the 27th (well we have to leave for England on that day and stay in a hotel overnight and then on to our honeymoon from there on the 28th).

We will be going to Mombasa in Kenya, Africa for 2 weeks for our honeymoon, we will be going on a 4 days and 3 night safari too when were there. I can't wait but im terrified of the plane journey. I have only ever been on a 20 minute flight before and my fiance has never been on a plane ever so really our 1st proper flight will be 10 and a half hours!

We left Monday after a Saturday wedding.  It was kinda nice to have that one day in between and say by to people in the morning.

I was really happy that we went right after, we were thinking about doing it later when we'd have more time.  But we had such a wedding high it was nice to spend that on a honeymoon and not back at the office.

We left for our honeymoon a week after the wedding. It allowed us some time to relax and spend time with people that were still in town. We also didn't have to worry about rushing to catch a flight the day after our wedding.

@ TealaB - we haven't started planning the trip and when we'd be going, so we haven't looked into photographers yet.  We've also thought about the idea of taking our own photos since photography is one of our major hobbies.  We'd set up our cameras onto tripods and use a wireless remote.  If we did that, we'd have to get some practice in! Engagement self portraits, perhaps? ;)

Ritsi - My FI and I are talking about the same thing (tripod) for two major reasons.  First, he loves to take pictures and is often very picky about the photos he gets from others, and second is cost.

We haven't decided for sure, but we might go that route also.

It will have been about 10 months since our wedding by the time we go on our honeymoon. Since we are both students (but got married in the fall), summer was the only time we could go.

Haven't coordinated our honeymoon yet, but the plan is to leave that Monday (Memorial Day, we're getting married on the Sunday) for Italy!!!  Super excited!  FI and I haven't been and we're taking 2 weeks to tour the country (Florence, Rome, Vatican, Venice, and Milan).

We are having a bit of a dilemma here. We have like 90% decided that we'd like to go to Kauai in Hawaii.  BUT the only direct flight to Honolulu out of Houston leaves at 9:30 am.  So now we are debating heading out on Sunday morning for our Saturday wedding or waiting until Monday morning.  Here are my thoughts:

Sunday departure:  This way we are on our way to relaxation as soon as possible after the stressful wedding!  We only have limited time for the honeymoon (1 week) so this gives us some more time.  Also this forces us to be organized and packed and ready to go the next day.

Monday departure: We will have family and friends in town that we'd like to see for longer than a couple hours!  We'll get some more down time after the wedding to move gifts around, take care of last minute packing, etc.  This way we can get some more time at home before we head off on a long plane ride, plus the fiance doesn't sleep well on planes so he will have time to rest before the 8 hour flight.

    What are you doing?

I'm going to teach summer school for 3 weeks after the wedding which will give us extra money and time to tie up any lose ends.  There will be a week to get ready for the honeymoon once summer school ends then it is off to St. Lucia!  I have a tendency to get sick after big events (ie. a 2 week cold after a vacay in Florida) so I'm hoping if I do get a tad sick I'll be good for the honeymoon!
