just curious, sometimes we're still referred to as newlyweds, and it's been a year and a half. When would you say a couple is no longer "just married"?

I would say after your first anniversary, you aren't newlywed anymore. Just my own opinion though. That's when we stopped considering ourselves newlyweds.

Depends who you're talking to if your talking to the retired couple married 30 years you're newlyweds probably still at 5 years married...

So I said up to a year but that totally depends on who you talking to.

I've always heard two years. That said, I'm going to call myself a newlywed until I get tired of it. be that 2 years or 20.

@helenberrycrunch: same...I still feel like we're the newlyweds even though we've been to several friends' weddings since our own!

I think probably after the first year of marriage I won't consider us to be newlyweds anymore. I see many books associated with newlyweds usually only go as far as the first year.

Haha I think 1 year but I said that once in front of my grandmother who has been married to my grandpa for 64 years. She said "Oh honey, the first 10-15 years are the newlywed years!"

I'd lean toward the first year in general, but for us, we started feeling like we were no longer the newly weds when the next sibling got married after us, at about a year and three months.
