I think the general rule is 2 months out - I sent mine out on two months to the day, and it seems to be working for us. But we also didn't have a "B" list - we might have sent them out sooner if we did
I'm a September bride and am sending out of country & out of town guests their invites in June and the remainder in July so June sounds about right for you!
I want to send my invites out the first week of June. I want to have my reply-by date be July 1st because I know some people will be late replying and I want a final head count at least a month before the wedding.
We're sending ours out first week of June with a July 7 RSVP date, one month before the wedding. Our final count is due 10 days prior and I want extra time for seating charts, favors tag, etc.
@Gerbera - thanks, youg made me realize our final head count is due July 10th too so maybe I should send them out first week of June instead! Ahhh!!!
OH wow your head count is due super early.
I agree then with your head count due July 10th you should def send yours out early June as well to give your guests a month to reply and yourself at least a week to track down the non-repliers.
Yeah, thanks. I didn't even think about that. We're just starting to make our invitations so I wanted to know all the details first. Thanks all for your help!
If all goes following the plans, we are going to be sending out our invites halfway May, so around 2.5 months before the wedding. We haven't done any "Save the Date" cards since that didn't fit our budget nor is it really common here to send out those, but the most important guests ofcourse already know bout the date! :) Since we get married during summer break we decided to be a little early with the invites to give our guests plenty time to arrange things if need be. The response 'deadline' I have set on August 1rst, so 20 days before the wedding, but that might change depending on when our evening venue wants the final headcount. I don't think they need it much earlier tho.
Wedding is August 7th, we will be sending out invites in the next couple weeks because our venue can't block rooms for us (Mille Lacs is a HUGE fishing lake and the venue is right on the water). Our RSVP is July 16. I don't want any surprises. I know maybe I'm crazy but oh well.
I'm sending invitations out this week because it's a destination wedding and 100% of the guests don't live in the location
I'm August 13 and am aiming for the first week of June to send. I am not afraid to send 9-10 weeks early. I have actually had guests asking me when I'm sending them already .....guess the Save the Dates got them excited.
I need to figure it all out! Beginning to Middle of June is when I'm planning on it.
i think we will send ours out in a couple weeks. I have my first shower on June 12th so i want the invites to go out b4 they get the shower invites.
Mid- to late June. I have to finish them first, since we're semi-DIYing them. Just waiting for school to be over this week, first!
We're sending ours the first week in June. I'm actually picking them up today, and my mom flies in to help assemble next week. Our wedding is basically a destination for most of our guests, so it's not like they can make plans last minute anyways. We wanted to give them the max amount of time possible to get hotel rooms and flights.
We're aiming for early-mid June. RSVP date will be July 19th. One of our hotels has a cut-off date of July 5th so we need to give people time to make the decision.
Wow, I feel like our reply date is so late. We're sending ours out in mid-June, the 14th if we have our act together. The response date is July 31st. The caterer needs to know the headcount only a couple of days before the wedding.
My wedding is August 14th, I am sending them out early - mid june (depending when i get them); reply by July 16th. Gives me 2 weeks to get seating charts done and give the final head count.
I am sending them out first week of June - reply date July 23rd!
We are sending them out early because we have a lot of out-of-towners that need to book accommodations.
Wow...I was also planning on going the late route. My venue doesn't need a head count until 3 days before. But I didn't send the save the dates. My wedding is small, so I believe everyone already knows the date...Is is standard to give them one month to reply?
@sara - the "guidelines" is send them out 6-8 weeks prior with 4 weeks to reply! Hope that helps!
My wedding isn't anymore in August, but our reception will be the original date of August 7, so we'll send out our invitations in mid-june to the people out of town, and will send the rest of the local invites at the beginning of july or mid july to our in town friends and peeps!
We're having a very very intimate wedding in the islands (caribbean) and then our reception after we return the following saturday evening!

It looks like I'm an outlier here, but I sent/passed mine out last week. We're self-catering, so I wanted to get numbers early.
I sent mine out yesterday. Our room blocks expire in June so this gives our guests a heads up.

Ok August brides, when are you sending out your invites? I'm thinking end of June for me. Is that a good time?
