I posted this as a response in another thread but I figured it would be a good idea to post it as it's own thread....happy reading
As a bridesmaid in my fair share of weddings...my suggestions to any brides who need to bustle...
1. Have the person who will be doing the bustle go with you to your final fitting for instruction.
2. Have the seamstress use ties that you tie through the slipknot and NOT the loops. It makes the bustling go a lot faster and smoother...and it's more secure.
3. Have the seamstress color code the ties and slipknots so that you can easily tell what needs to be tied where.
My last two friends that got married followed these tips I learned as a bridesmaid =) and we were able to have them bustled and back at their reception in no time at all.
OR
You can do what I am doing....buy a dress that doesn't need to be bustled ;)
