Went to the Dr. last week at 1 day shy of 10 weeks. Dr. tried to find heartbeat widh doppler, couldn’t find it. He sent us to get an ultrasound just for peace of mind, and there was our sweet baby with a heartbeat of 162 wiggling around like crazy! Thank the Lord!
Anyway, we are going to go back next week to see if we can hear…I’ll be 1 day shy of 12 weeks.
Do you think we will be able to hear this time? How far along were you?

We had the same thing happen to us. That few minutes of waiting for them to setup the ultrasound etc was nerve racking! We ended up hearing the heartbeat at 14 weeks.

14 weeks, but they also didn’t try any sooner. My doctor did ultrasounds at 8 and 12 weeks, and I had another done at 14 weeks in the ER.

I had an appointment today and the doctor found the heart beat no problem and I am 13 weeks exactly.

@tnbellebee: I work with an OB onCe per month, she usually can’t find it until after the first trimester. Although, she HAS found it as early as 8 weeks i think- but that’s very rare

We heard it at 12 weeks, 5 days. She had a llttle trouble because LO was tucked into my hips but found it after a minute.

I heard the heartbeat at my appointment last week at 11 weeks. The nurse warned me that she usually can’t find it that early, but after a few minutes of trying she finally picked it up! Everyone is different though so she told me before she started to not worry if we couldn’t hear it yet.

11 weeks every now and again. From 12 weeks, perfectly. I wasn’t looking low enough – even now at 16+2, my baby is way down near the pubic bone.

my midwife wont even try until 16 weeks because it can cause unnessessary ( I can never spell that word) for the mother. We heard mine at 16 weeks but it was faint due to where baby was lying and the fact my own pulse through the placenta was so strong but it was there.

I first found it a little before 10 weeks with my at home doppler, but it was hit or miss whether I was able to find it for the next week and a half or so. My dr found it at my appt without too much trouble at 11w5d. I’m now 12w4d.

I found it myself at about 9 weeks although it took forever. When I hit 13 weeks, i could find it consistently. My doctor’s office didn’t use the doppler on me unitl I was 16 weeks or so.

About 12 weeks, but we hadn’t tried to look before then. The doctor had the hardest time finding it at first too, because Baby was tucked away, so there were some worrisome moments.

We had an appointment monday and they tried to find it and said with it being so early they might not be able to, and if they couldn’t they would do a sonogram instead. Well they couldn’t find it and during the sonogram it turns out the baby is about a week behind than they had originally predicted. So I was 9w4d and they couldn’t find it.
