We went on a fun trip to California. We were young, 17 and 19. So we went to an amusement park, to the Santa Clara boardwalk, swam in the ocean (we’re from the dry desert of nevada, so the ocean is always a treat!), we went and had amazing food, stayed at a gorgeous hotel, and on our way home we went through San Franscico. We made so many memories in such a short weekend!

friends of ours happen to invite us out to a fancy restaurant that the wife does business with, so part of our meal was comped and they sent out more food than we ordered.

so we did that as our anniversary, they even gave us some champange.

we probably would have eaten there evenutally….

ramengirl :  lol, never celebrated our dating anniversary at all!  I’m not even sure when it is barring August.  However we were very LDR and usually had a nice mini vacation each summer to spend time together.  So just before the ‘anniversary’ I spent two weeks traveling the west coast with him, met his family and attended his best friend’s wedding.

If you make a huge crazy deal about it now, you’re kinda setting the stage forevermore, so would you prefer to go big or small?  Weekend trip vs. nice dinner and a gift?

We went out for a nice dinner and then went back to the bar that we met at.  We hadn’t been there since our first date.

We just went out to dinner. It was a fancy-ish restaurant but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.

For our first WEDDING anniversary we went on vacation to California.

We looked at engagement rings! Also, we went ice skating, ate dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date, and went to the symphony. So great!

We had sushi. We exchanged small gifts, he got me some tumblers with my dogs’ photos on them and I don’t remember what I got him.

We went to the place we had our first date. Oh, and then he proposed- ha ha. No messing around for us. We were married the year after too.

We were LDR back then so he flew over for vacation where I’m living. We exchanged gifts then went to dinner.

I was in the middle of finals so we kept it simple. We went to see Star Trek: Into Darkness and he cried when Kirk and Spock had a moment. tongue-out
We also went out to a Creole restaurent in the city and had the most amazing meal. Creole (and Cajun/Carribean) cuisine is really rare over here, and unfortunately the restaurent didn’t stay open. But while there, he discovered gumbo, and has ever since been experimenting to find the perfect gumbo recipe. He calls it Papa [FI surname]’s gumbo whenever he makes it!

We were young (me 20, him 21) and we went to Disneyland for an overnight stay. I recently ran across pictures from that trip actually and we looked like babies haha!
