For me, I think it hit me like 100 different times!  The proposal was a complete surprise, so I was all like “OMG I’M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!”

We had a 2 year engagement, so we really spread out the planning.

It hit me again when we were looking at venues.  It hit me again when I put down our deposit.  It hit me again when I bought my dress.  When I ordered invitations, and again when I mailed them.  When we bought wedding bands.

The biggest moment, for me, was on our wedding day.  As I entered to walk down the aisle, I saw his face as he saw me for the first time in my wedding gown.  He had big tears in his eyes, and it was such an emotional moment for both of us, it was my favorite memory of the entire day.  In that moment, looking at my handsome groom waiting for me, smiling at me, it REALLY hit me, and I couldn’t have been any happier than in that moment, on that day.

Sending out invitations, getting bridal portraits done, and for some reson driving to the church yesterday to have the final meeting with the Priest. I just kept thinking, in one week people will be driving down this road to MY WEDDING.

hey! it sortof hit me when we told everyone.. then when we picked the venue.. then buying my dress… but those “whoa im getting married..” moments dont last. its still pretty surreal. We have 485 days to go still so i feel like once it gets closer it will hit me more.

It didnt hit me until I went to dress alterations and saw what MY dress was going to look like. The sample dresses just felt like playing dress up. FI and I have lived together for 2+ years and joined finances when we got engaged so not much is going to change – just my last name.

We were engaged August 12, 2011 but we aren’t getting married until June 1, 2013 (22 month engagement).

I can honestly say it didn’t “properly” hit me until New Years this year…once we actually entered 2013 and vendors start to actually pay attention to you and let you book things (previously we were turned down by our caterer and venue for trying to book “too early”).

Invitations are going out tomorrow, which makes it SUPER real 🙂

Booking vendors and discussing payments… “payment? but it’s a million years away!! OMG it’s actually only 2 months away!!!!”  Even typing that feels weird- it will be here in no time!

FI and I visited the church where we’re getting married while we were home for Christmas. It’s a beautiful old Gothic Revival style church in Center City, Philly and it’s such an impressive space. We were standing up at the end of the aisle by the choir gates and the priest said, “Well, you’re standing right about where you will be when this all happens” and I just about fainted.
