With 41 days to go, only 2 gifts have been purchased off our registry. Is this normal? Its not that I’m worried about getting gifts – I’m really just curious what is the norm. I’m also hoping that people aren’t all planning on bringing our gifts to the wedding itself, as we live 3,000 miles away and have no way to get them all back home right away!
So bees, when did the majority of your gifts get purchased (WEDDING gifts, not shower gifts)?

Most of my gifts came off the registry the day before my shower or in the two weeks before my wedding. I also worried about people bringing stuff to the wedding. Some of that happened, but with some items we went to a local branch of the stores with which we registered, explained the situation and they let us return the gift and reorder the same one to be shipped to us.

111 days to go, and we’ve recieved 2 gifts. Invitations to my first shower will go out in a few months, so things will start being purchased then.
Are you having a shower? Etiquette-wise, people have time after the wedding to give gifts too. Or maybe your family is more into giving cash?

We have 97 days to go and only 1 gift from our registry has been purchased! My shower is coming up on Saturday so I’m thinking in the next week more things might be bought but I can’t say for sure!

For my shower, people only bought gifts the day or two beforehand off of the registry. I think it will be the same for the wedding. We are 27 days out and the registry hasn’t had much action.

We’re a June 26 wedding too! We’ve received several gifts off the registry from our shower May 1. I have another shower this coming Sunday, so we’ll know more then. Most people bought within days of the shower. And I’ve only seen 3 things come off since then for the next shower in 7 days. We’ve recieved 2 checks for the wedding gifts, but nothing else.

20 days to go… only 1 gift purchased.. oh well, most of my guest are old school and will prob just bring us some cold hard cash, or homemade sentimental gifts(both are great for me!)

I haven’t registered yet personally, but I do know in my own experience going to weddings, I literally go shopping for the gift a day or two before. Remember, in your head the wedding is quickly approaching, but it’s not on the minds’ of your guests yet!

I have no idea – we haven’t got a real proper registry just a sort of one, so I don’t know if stuffs been bought yet, My mum is taking all the gifts home and popping them into the house while we’re away on honeymoon! We only live 10 miles or so from the reception venue – but we don’t want to have to unload everything from the boot once we get back before we make a move the next morning. So this is just easier!!

Well we’ve had some people buy things for our engagement party and my inlaws bought some things off our registry for Christmas (at my request). Our wedding isn’t till September but my bridal shower is in July so I’m thinking there might be more movement then. I wouldn’t worry, I know many people don’t shop until a week before (or even a few days before) the wedding!

10 days to go and I’m honestly very suprised with the amount of gifts purhcased off our regestries! I can’t belive we’re so lucky and blessed with amazing friends. Half our guests can’t come so many of them have bought online and shipped us gifts. We really need to put more things on there because all the $50-100 gifts are bought! I really never thought it’d be this easy.
The only random gift so far is from my Maid/Matron of Honor – she likes to think she can give something more personal than off the registry, but we thought it was totally random – a green platter. Its nice, but random.
also we’ve had no engagement paries, showers etc.

I hate you.
*sigh* 7 items purchased off ours and 31 days to go until the wedding. 2 days until our shower

Once the shower invitations were sent out I could see some registry activity. Then when it got close to the wedding

- Wedding: May 2015 - Walnut Hill Bed & Breakfast
My mother in law bought some stuff as soon as she saw I registered… months ago, lol.
For my shower people started buying stuff about 2 weeks before.
There aren’t too many items left, so I’m hoping there won’t be many phsyical gifts at the wedding.

Yea, same here, registry purchases started when shower invites went out. I would be suprised if we get additional physical gifts leading up to the wedding, but who knows.
