My wedding is one year from today exactly! We have been engaged quite a bit now, and therefore have all of the big items booked, except my dress and a florist.. I am going dress shopping tomorrow.. But would like to know:
When did you start looking into florists???

Since I wanted all of the large tasks done EARLY, we booked our florist in January 2010. Getting married in October.

I just got married in August and we booked our florist in December. I think you can meet with florist when you are within a year from your wedding date and they are all usually booked by six months out so now might be a perfect time to start looking.

We booked all our big vendors 9 months out. But florists you can book later since they can do multiple weddings in a day, unless they are extremely complicated – we just had three bouquets, some corsages, and some boutonnieres.

i started looking into florists in january… booked our florist in late february… about 7 months before our date… and i still feel like we had plenty of time if we needed it. all of the florists had our date open… and apparently our day is a popular day in MI this year.

I’m going in October since my mom will be in town visiting. That’s about 7 months out!

You can never book a florist too early, IMO! It’s one less thing to worry about, and you guarantee they hold your date for you. I still haven’t booked mine (Who am I kidding? I work at a flower shop and talk with the designers daily about their ideas! Ha!), but I also still don’t have anything done yet. Well, except for my budget break down…but that’s it.
You could at least shop around, find out who you want to book, pay your deposit, and then finalize your order when it gets closer to your date. Nothing has to be set in stone until a few weeks before your wedding (so they can order the flowers from the wholesalers).

I didn’t book mine yet. Just started making appointments (which aren’t until November!).

I just went to my florist last week. We aren’t getting married until next October but I think it was super helpful to figure out what I wanted and how much it was going to cost! I think the earlier you figure it out the better…one less thing to worry about!
