@smileyd: I'm not really sure of the specific week. I bought a bella band from Target shortly after I found out. I knew I would want/need it, so i just went ahead and bought it. I ended up buying a couple pairs of jeans before the first trimester ended. I didn't necessarily need them, but they were so much more comfortable! & they all still fit.
I never wore maternity clothes or even bought anything new. My boobs got huge and I got a little bump but that was it. I barely gained 15 lb. I could wear jeans with the belly band the whole time and I wore a lot of flowy dresses with leggings. Also longer shirts and tanks, maxi dresses etc are all in style now anyway. So I already had all these things in my wardrobe. All I did was buy new bras.
I had to buy new jeans in the first trimester because even the slightest pressure on my waist was making my pregnancy sickness worse, but as for actual maternity clothes, I just bought my first in June... I voted second trimester, but I guess that was actually third for me now that I think about it, so I lied. Sorry. :)
I bought the bella band in the second month (the bloating in the frist trimester made my pants unbearable to button up, even though I only put on a few pounds).
I really didn't get a big belly til about week 30. but i did buy some jeans with a full panel, just because they were so darn comfy :) I've also been trying to shop from my wardrobe, lots of dresses, leggings, regular t shirts etc. I really didn't want to spend money on maternity clothes, I know I'm going to want to buy more clothes for after baby when my old stuff doesn't maybe fit as well.
I bought them around 10wks. I was bloated and did not like having clothes tight on my tummy. I mostly bought them for work because outside of work I'm wearing maxi dresses. :)
I waited until 12 weeks b/c like you said, I didn't want to jinx it and be stuck with tons of maternity clothes I didn't need. But I really needed them before. I just wore a belly band (which I disliked) and lots of flowy dresses.
I brought a bella band and a pair of Mama Spanx at around 7 weeks. I am so bloated and my clothes weren't very comfortable. :(
I didn't really show until 7 months. I bought a few pairs of maternity pants around 5/6 months for work (I did a lot of physical things and wanted to be comfy!). I only bought one shirt when I was 8 months and that was for my shower. Although I did get gifted quite a few things early on I didn't wear them until about 6 months.
I bought two rounds of maternity clothes- one at about 3 months, and one at about 4 months. I've yet to wear any of them. My SIL loaned me a huge bag of maternity clothes and I've found one pair of pants I wear to work a lot, the rest I did not like.
I am closing in on 7 months, and so far I have found maternity clothes to be the biggest waste of money ever. I hate them (not just the style, but the material, the fit, everything) and instead have just been wearing regular clothes that are a size (or 2) up because I have found those to be more comfortable.
When I'm at home, I just wear extra long tank tops and track pants. I can still fit into two pairs of pre-pregnancy jeans (albeit a size larger than all my other jeans) and one pair of dress pants (also a size up from the others) and those items, plus the aforementioned maternity dress pants have been getting me by. If my regular jeans don't fit me in a few months, I'll probably just dispense with jeans altogether- NOT buying maternity jeans. As far as shirts go- my tank tops and t-shirts still work. For the office, I bought some new button down shirts that are a large and that seems to be working for now.
I was forced to buy several new bras though. You can get pretty cheap ones at Target, but I highly recommend hitting up Victoria's Secret when they're having a sale. You can get a nice quality bra for under $20.
Anyways, I know it's fun to look - I was checking out motherhood maternity at like 6 weeks along- but I really recommend waiting and seeing what you need. I spent $150 at Motherhood Maternity that I really wish I could get back.
I think I bought a bella band early on - just to make some of my tighter pants more comfortable.
I think you should wait to buy stuff till you need it because you may end up wasting money on things for summer but not need them till fall. I found I could wear a lot of my "normal clothes" for a long while (even into my 9th month - depending on cut).
I had a bella band around 15 weeks, but didnt need it until after 20 weeks. I borrowed that from my SIL. I bought my first pair of maternity jeans around 25 weeks and didnt wear them until like 30 weeks . Theyre still too big on me. Im almost 38 weeks now and Im still in a lot of non-maternity pants with the bella band, I do have some maternity tanks bc theyre longer, which I bought around like 31-32 weeks I think. Everyone is totally different with how they carry

I'm seven weeks, and I'm not needing any yet, but I'm wondering when other bees bought their first maternity peices? I don't want to jinx anything before we're even out of the first trimester, but THyme Maternity is having a sale, and I don't really want to spend a fortune on clothes.
My poll is mostly gives options of moths and trimesters, but if you could reply in the comments with your specfic week?
