when did you decide on your baby’s name? we didnt start talking about names very serously until after our 20 week scan (when we found out the sex) then we started seriously considering his name around 21-22 weeks and i just started calling him that to see if it felt right. Now at 30 weeks were almost postive that we will be naming our little guy that name.
what about you?

We are going to start talking about names after our anatomy scan in a week and a half (Sooooo excited) but we’ve decided that we’re only going to narrow it down to a few options and then decide once the baby is born!

We’ve already talked about girl names since before pregnancy but I really have no idea about boy names! My husband is convinced it’s a girl so if so, that will be a lot easier on us. 😉

We had a girl name, but didnt start talking boy names til I was in 2nd tri. Even then we really didn’t decide on a boys name until munchkin was born. We had two boy names we liked and it was when the nurses came with the paper work for the birth certificate did we actually chose munchkin’s name….

I was pretty sure it was a boy before going in for my 20wk u/s, so we were going with Francis. After we found out for sure it was a boy I had second thoughts b/c I hated the possible nicknames (Frank, Frankie)…so we’re 100% decided on Myles:) Can’t really shorten that one!

We negotiated baby names before we got married as the boy’s name was a deal breaker for my husband. My husband is the 10th Peter, so if it was a boy I had no say so on the first name. But I negotiated hard for the middle name of my choice. We took the time to decide on a girl’s name as well. We just found out on Monday that we’re having a girl, and we’ve been calling her by that name ever since. No chance we’re changing it. She’s our Ella Joyce.

I’ve mentioned this on other threads but we were Team Green with my daughter. Went into it with a “short” list of 4 girl and 4 boy names. Figured we’d be down by half easily enough. After I saw her, I knew her name WASN’T the one that had previously been my #1 pick. I thought about the other 3 and figured I’d be ok with any of them so I let my husband pick. We’re at 26 weeks with #2 and have the original 4 boy names and I’ve added 4 more. My husband says it’s too early to think about that. Mmhmm.

we talked about names before TTC and we had narrowed down a few boys names. (we thought for sure we would have boys)
We got pregnant and before we knew the gender, we had our boy name picked out but as the pregnancy progressed we both felt like it was a she, AND SHE IS! From the moment we found out our prince was a princess (14 weeks) we settleed on a girl name pretty quicly after. We have been calling her that ever since!

We talked about names while TTC. We decided on a boy & a girl name & plan to stick to that once baby is born. 🙂

We decided on it officially the day after he was born at the hospital. The social security people came in and kind of pressured us to make it official. We had a really difficult time compromising during the pregnancy, so it was hard to come to a real decision.

Im 36 weeks today and we have finally come up with 3 names (we know it’s a boy) that we BOTH like but are waiting to see him before choosing one. Darling Husband and I have very different tastes on boy names so when we first talked about it (around 20 weeks) we both hurt eachothers feelings on how much we disliked eachothers choices. It took a while and a TON of names before there were some that we both thought would fit the bill.

We didn’t officially decide until she was born. We didn’t discuss her name until about a month and a half before my due date.

Fiance told me we wouldn’t consider names until the gender U/S, ticked me off! I didn’t wanna know the sex till birth. We found out the gender, and he drove me nutz, still not talking names. Was shortly before the 1st baby shower he said I like this name.. and I said settled went on my computer, designes thank you cards with the babys name on it. TOld him not turning back on the name now, I was almost 8 months by then.

We had decided on names before getting married but once I actually got pregnant, we talked about it a little more seriously. Our girl name changed completely but our boy name ended up being the same because we could only really come up with one name we liked. I felt it was a girl though so I wasn’t worried and we were right in that she is a girl. I was a little worried we’d name her so early (16 weeks, the day we found out the gender) and she wouldn’t fit her name but even now, at 30 weeks tomorrow, she’s living up to her name with what I can tell of her personality.
So technically we picked out her name in the first trimester so we’d be ready going in to the gender scan.
