I bought a sample Romona Keveza dress back in August. We’re getting married this October.
It is just sitting at the store and needs some major alterations. What month do you suggest getting my first fitting? Has anyone else had major alterations done to a dress?
The dress is a sample size 10 and I wear a sample size 4-6.
I’m super nervous about it!

I had my first fitting about 2 months before the wedding. But since you need major alterations, I would probably start earlier than that. You could probably ask the seamstress how long it will take.

My first fitting is tomorrow, so about 2 and half months before the wedding. I would just call whoever is altering your dress and ask them. That’s all I did.

My first fitting is two months before the wedding, and I would told the alterations should be completed a month before the wedding. You might need to start earlier since it is being taken down several sizes – I would ask the store what they recommend.

You have NOTHING to be worried about. I bought a sample (size 10) and I am a street size 0-2, so not only did the dress have to be taken in a ton, but it also needed a few other things fixed on it and the bridal shop said we didn’t need to start any more than 6-8 weeks before the wedding. I ended up NOT wearing that dress for various reasons and ended up buying another sample a month before my wedding (again, a sample size 10) and the alterations and bustle were done in 1 fitting. My second fitting I just tried it on and the seamstress showed my bms how to bustle it. You will totally be okay.
