My daughter turned 4 months old last week and I still haven’t gotten my period. I’ve been breastfeeding with formula supplementation (due to a low milk supply) since she was born but once she started sleeping through the night and skipping the 3am feeding, I figured my period would probably reappear. (I read that the middle of the night breast feeding is the one that tends to keep the period away and often when that feeding goes away, the period comes back.)
So, just wondering what everybody else’s experience with this was…

I am bumping this because I am curious too.

I got mine back pretty much immediately and with a vengence. And I’m still feeding overnight. So I am totally jealous of you right now!! I understand from my research that you may not get it back until you stop BFing completely. If so, congrats! LOL

My SIL got her’s back when my nephew was 5.5 months. The only way I know that is they were visiting us and she asked to borrow some “supplies” since she was not expecting it to come when it did 🙂

I conceived last September, and got the IUD placed at my 6 week postpartum check-up, so I’ve been period free for a year!

@MightySapphire – I wish I could be happy that it hasn’t returned but I guess I’m a bit nervous because I struggled with PCOS and had a completely irregular cycle for years. When my husband and I decided to start trying, I went off the pill and was really glad to find out that I was getting regular periods for the first time in my life so I’m anxious to see whether that remains. We definitely want more kids and probably sooner rather than later due to our ages so I don’t feel like I have a ton of time to lose!

I got mine back when my son was about 8 months old :). I nursed him until he was almost 2 though. So I think mine came back when I wasn’t nursing so much i.e when he was eating a lot more solids, and taking the breast less.
