Try it on, and make sure it still fits!
You can probably wait until about 2 months before the wedding to start fittings, but check with a seamstress to see what they reccomend based on your dress!
I started doing my first fitting last week, just because the designer only made 2! I'm a size 0 and the dress is size 4....you get the picture, a lot of alterations. Its best to start knowing where your at, and if there need some work, its nice to get the head start....if you feel a little snug then you can try leaving a little room. You want to be comfortable in your gown....
My wedding is May 34 2008 and the shop where I bought my dress recommended at least 4 months so I go for my 1st fitting Jan 23rd. Just to be on the safe side I would find a seamstress and start your fitting soon.
I was a 7/7/07 bride. I bought my dress in June 2006 and lost close to 30 lbs before my fitting. My first fitting was April 24 and the only work it needed was a bustle. Thank goodness for corset dresses!

I bought my dress at the Kleinfeld's Sample Sale a year before the big day. It has been sitting in my closet wrapped in a white sheet since then. I am now 3 and 1/2 months away and need to think about getting it altered.
The only alterations are the length and a bustle..the dress is a bit snug and I am dieting. The back of the dress is chiffon and the front is satin so nothing crazy....although I still haven't decided on a bustle yet...
Is 3 months too soon? I am actually afraid of trying my dress on in case it doesn't fit
but better to know sooner rather than later, right?
Thanks!
