How soon did you know you were pregnant. I have had this crazy feeling that I am pregnant but I am still about 2 weeks from my period! grrr!!! I have had some nausea but mostly tightness in my stomach, dizzy spells and just an overall feeling that something is different.

How soon did you know? What were your signs? When were you able to take your first pregnancy test?

I knew when my period didn't show up. :) Seriously, I had no symptoms or weird gut feelings. We weren't trying very hard so I didn't suspect anything until my period was a day late and my temp was still elevated. So I took a test.

If your period is due in two weeks, you'd likely be ovulating around now.

I didn't know until my period was a week late - I was coming off the pill, so I didn't think much of being late. I was riding in the car and had a twinge of nausea, which I thought may have been from having a couple drinks from the night before, even though it would take a lot more than 2 drinks to affect me like that! I knew I had to POAS when later that night, when for the 3rd night in a row my nipples were really sore and my stomach was in knots.

@iheartnerds:  this!  I had way less "pregnancy symtpoms" the cycle I got pregnant than I ever did even on cycles when I was on the pill and thought OMG I DIDN'T MISS A PILL BUT HOLY CRAP I FEEL PREGNANT SO I MUST BE PREGNANT! Lol...

You *might* have some symptoms a few days before your period is due, but until then, your body doesn't even really know it's pregnant yet and is just gearing up for a normal period.  The signal to not get your period starts when the embryo attaches to your uterus (earliest is 6 days past when you ovulate) and starts pumping out Hcg to tell your corpus luteum to hang around and keep making progesterone instead of dying off and getting your period.

I also only suspected I was maybe pregnant because of my temp staying elevated.  Heck, I even thougt I started my period because of implantation bleeding!  I had pretty much NO pregnancy symptoms whatsoever until I was well into my 5th week.  I kept taking tests to reassure myself that yes, I am indeed pregnant. haha!

I found a thread on another site with the same question and many women responding that they knew pretty much right after ovulation/conception. Many report small twinges in the lower abdomen, feelings of dizziness, mild nausea, breast tenderness. One woman said her mother told her she was pregnant before she even could test and she was. And some say they just knew, they felt different, can't really explain how, but just did. I was looking because I was wondering the same thing. Last month I knew for sure that I was NOT pregnant. This month is different, but it's also the 2nd cycle off BC so it just might be more adjusting. I refuse to test before I'm late for AF so I'll be symptom spotting until then lol. I had a dream the night before last in which I told my sister that this was the cycle, I just "knew" I was pregnant... eeeeeek.

@SaraP2012:  That would be some crazy intuition!  If you're 14 days out from your period, you ovulated like yesterday, or haven't even yet, since most luteal phases are 11-14 days.

I started to wonder around 10 days past ovulation, when my boobs were so sore, and I felt more emotional than I usually do with PMS.

I had ZERO symptoms!  I had a hunch, since I charted my temp, but other than that I was super shocked when I saw the second line.  I was so sure my cramps were PMS cramps that I bought a box of tampons & a bottle of wine...

I took a test because I was late for my period. I had ovulated late that month and thought there was no way possible I was pregnant because my luteal phase was so short. Sure enough, 5 days after my missed period, I got a BFP. I didn't get any pregnancy symptoms until week 6 when my boobs started getting really sore. Then week 7 I started getting the nausea!

If you are two weeks from your missed period then most likely you are ovulating now and implantation has not yet occured. I started to get this strange heartburn at 12dpo and had this weird feeling I was pregnant. I got a very faint line that day. Good luck and make sure you baby dance as you could be ovulating now or in the next few days.

I knew at 8dpo, when I got a faint positive test. We were trying to conceive and my husband talked me into taking a test early haha.

I knew at 6DPO. I woke up in the middle of the night with this warm tingling feeling in my uterus and then I had pinching cramps all day for two days after. I had to wait a while longer for a BFP, but I just knew.

    Good luck. :)

I had a feeling at around 4DPO when I had a pain in my stomach and my boobs were SUPER sore. Officially got a positive at 13DPO.

I had a very strong suspicion a couple of days before AF was due, when my temperature was still elevated and my usual PMS symptoms hadn't started.  So I guess for me, aside from the temperatures, it was a lack of symptoms that tipped me off.  I got a faint BFP the first time I tested, at 11 DPO.

I actually had a gut feeling I was - I drove to the store to pick up a pregnancy test, was too nervous to take one, so I turned back around and went home. Sat at home for a few minutes and felt like I had to go back to the store and buy one. Sure enough, it was positive!

Other than the gut feeling, I had weird twinges in my lower abdomen and I fell asleep in a movie theatre at 7 pm a few days before (that never happens to me). The other symptoms didn't come until a couple weeks later.

I was sure I wasn't pregnant this month because I didn't think we timed the BD very well.  I should have gotten my period Monday or Tuesday and didn't, but I've only been off the pill since September and my temps were kind of wacky, so I figured I was just "off."  As I was going down the stairs to leave for trivia Tuesday night I thought, hmmm, my boobs are sore.  Tested Wednesday morning and sure enough, BFP.

I didn't know until I was 11 DPO and got a positive on an FRER.  I thought I felt implantation cramps at 6DPO, but I also figured it could have just been a coincidence.  I had a dream the same night of the cramps that I was pregnant.  Tested a few days later, and got a very faint line on a cheapie test.  I wasn't sure if it was an evap line, so I bought an FRER and took it the next morning.  BFP  That was this weekend and I still don't have any pregnancy symptoms yet.  I was also convinced the day before I got the faint line on the cheapie that I wasn't pregnant since I didn't feel pregnant at all, and didn't have any real symptoms.  I had more "symptoms" in previous cycles than I did the cycle I got my BFP.

I figured it would be too early and maybe I am just thinking into things to much. I am probably also reading too much because some forums have women who have said that they started experiencing symptoms the day after conception.

Thank you for all of your input! I will let you know if anything changes in the next two weeks :)

@SaraP2012:  As others have said, it's waaaaay too early for you to feel anything yet. Not to disregard what other women have felt, but hindsight is 50-50. It's much easier for a pregnant woman to look back and say, "Oh, I just *knew* I was pregnant as soon as it happened," or "I felt like I was going to throw up a week before I missed my period." As all TTC women know, it's easy to assign pregnancy symptoms to everything, but getting that BFP validates symptom spotting. There have been many months during my TTC journey where I had symptoms and seriously thought I was pregnant. I wasn't, but I had been, I might be one of those people who claimed to know 3DPO because my boobs were sore.

A couple of days before my BFP, I was extremely thirsty and was experiencing some pulling type cramps in my uterus. Much different than period cramps! I waited until I was 2 days late to take a HPT, then I obviously knew for sure I was pregnant!

I felt this exact same way a week before my last period. I was nauseous for two days, boobs were sore, and had constant headaches and some twinges of cramping. I decided I would give it utnil my period due date to check if I was pregnant, and wouldn't ya know AF was right on time :-)

I think sometimes we pay too much attention to our bodies, and we are actually the cause of pain or weird feelings. He heighten them ourselves. If you really do think you are pregnant though wait until after AF is due at the very least.

I knew the day after I missed my period and tested.  The night before, I had stabbing needle-like pain in my nipples, but I thought it was just AF coming.  Other than that, no symptoms.

I had no symptoms until ~8 weeks.  I didn't know or even really suspect I was pregnant until my "period" (withdrawal bleed, since I was on the pill) was 4 days late and I tested "just to rule it out..." and BFP.

    I'm almost 35 weeks along.  :)

About 12 DPO, however the test showed one line (negative) after waiting for 3 min so I tossed into a bathroom trashcan.  Then about 4 hours later, I had an odd feeling that made me dig up the test and it showed very faint double line(positive) :).  My husband was on elliptical that exact moment and he almost fell off when I told him that we are pregnant! =)

I think a lot of us are different depending on what we've experienced.  I just felt "different" when  I was pregnant and my nipples were sensitive.  Symptoms really kicked in when I was 5 weeks though.  I just kind of knew :) However, I never got morning sickness really just mild nausea.  Good luck to you!  I think some women do just "know" :)

I was completely oblivious until the BFP at 7.5 weeks. Yeah... I was THAT convinced I wasn't! I had been sure so many times previously and the test was always negative. Hindsight is totally 20/20 though and looking back, I totally had symptoms from the start. So part of me says, yes you can absolutely know immediately. But the other part of me says you never know until you take the test.

I honestly had a gut feeling the night we conceived- and I know for certain the night because we were able to BD only once during my fertile time. I had just read that morning how women with a tilted uterus should roll over on their belly after sex, so I did that for the first time that night and I just felt like that was going to do it for us. **I don't truly believe that rolling on my belly was what finally got me pregnant, but it made me feel more confident that it'd work.

Other than that, the only symptoms I'd say I had was waking up the day before I tested with a splitting headache and dry mouth. I felt like I was hungover and I hadn't had a drink in about a week, so it was definitely not normal for me. It was not until a few days after my BFP that I started to feel incredibly bloated (lasted about 3 days) and crampy.

This last one I knew the day after ovulation.  4 of the other 5 pregnancies I've had, I've also known although not QUITE at fast as this one.  My body seems to be pretty clear on when it's pregnant, not so good at carrying to term or telling me when I'm miscarrying.

@SaraP2012:  I knew the night before I took a test and it was like 4 days before my missed period. I was at a girls get together the night before and felt really sick after eating crab dip that I normally love and then I got what I later found out was heart burn. I had never ever had heart burn before and as I was laying in bed that night in pain from it I just KNEW I was pregnant. I woke up the next morning and took a test and it was positive. It was our first month not preventing so we were so lucky to conceive right away!

DH and I were arguing over me being pregnant.  I wasn't charting.  About a week and a half before my period was supposed to start I was feeling pretty crappy. I usually feel crappy before I get my period but DH kept insisting there was something different about me. One major difference is that I was SUPER bloated. I thought my period started but later I found out it was implantation bleeding.  POAS 3 times all negative. Called my doc, she had me take a blood test a week after my late period . I did and I was pregnant.

@MrsDTMajor:  Congratulations!! I feel the same way... I dont usually feel this way and all signs point to pregnancy. The past few days I have also woken up with achy legs and back. Maybe I am reading way too much into things but either I am pregnant or my mind is playing really crazy tricks on my body!

i was INSANELY ill even though i was about 9 or 10 weeks. and i was constantly exhausted. i was nauseous, i couldn't even look at certain foods anymore, and i was just so, so tired. and i felt 'weird' like all over. i didn't know i was pregnant at the time, but i kept thinking i was coming down with something so i kept telling my fiance that i was 'just not feeling good'. he thought i was being a hypochondriac or something but lo and behold...the symptoms were explained. i was really shocked that i was pregnant because i thought i was just falling ill.

I was feeling sort of crampy about a week post-O, but not like pre-period cramps. I was definitely looking for implantation signs, and I definitely felt like something was going on. When AF didn't show up, I was hardly surprised.

I noticed my boobs were sore from ovulation to the day AF was due. I thought that was strange because normally they only hurt for a few days on/ after ovulation. I also felt sharp pain in my lower back around implantation that made me gasp Which was strange.
