I always knew I wanted to end up married, but even as a kid I dreaded walking down the aisle with people staring at me! So I looked forward to marriage but not the wedding. Now that I'm on the other side of the big day, I think I had it right as a kid! The walk down the aisle was not my idea of a good time, but I love being married.
I always knew I wanted to get married, ofcourse in those days I just wanted to have a pretty white dress like barbie.. then when I saw the Jungle book movie and the village girl at the end sings the song "My own home" it made me really want to be grown too. Here is the song for those that dont know it. sadly I still love it!!
@bells:Aw I love that song! It kind of makes me misty eyed now!
I knew I wanted to get married when I first saw my now FI on our college campus. I know how cheezy it must sound, but it's true. I never thought about marriage until I met him. What get's me more than anything else.....is that I remember seeing him and thinking as plain as day...that's the man I'm going to marry. Finally after 5 and a half years, I'll be marrying my best friend and soul mate.
I thought about it as a given growing up. Then in my early 20s I became disillusioned and swore I would never get legally married. And then DH came along and that idea went right out the window, lol.
After I was in a steady relationship for over 2 years, I just wanted to take the next step of commitment and showing the world we wanted to be together.
Impulsive at 18, but I am glad I didn't go that far with my ex. My current partner however - just feels right :)

Same here
When I was 16 and I dreamed of being grown up in my own home with someone I loved. I guess I saw it as somewhat of an escape.
I don't remember a time when I didn't know I wanted to get married. It's just something I've always known I wanted since I was a very little kid. Obviously my perspectives on it have changed since then, but not my desire for it.
When I met FI. I knew I would do it someday, but once I met him I suddenly had an actual desire to. Now I can't wait!
When I was three. I started praying then and am still praying now.... yay, I am engaged and have been blessed with the man of my dreams and prayers! God is able
I guess I've always thought marriage was a given for me. I didn't start thinking about the actual wedding though until FI brought up the discussion of rings, then I went overboard.
I never thought about getting married until I met my DH last year.
I always thought it was something that really wasn't for me. Then I met DH last July and things changed. By around October of last year I was thinking, 'wow, I think I could really do this with this guy!' lol 7 months later! :D
I like moving fast :)
When I was a flower girl for my brother and SIL wedding, and she leaned over to me and pulled a red rose from her bouquet tucked it behind my ear.... and squeezed my hand and said ... "we're sisters forever now" I was like 7? the whole day actually, walking down the aisle in our church, all our family there. It was a great day.
Not until I met FI! Well probably even a couple years after that. I knew I wanted to marry him but I wasn't sold on the whole wedding thing until about 22. I always believed in marriage I just didn't know if I was ready.
Not until my FI told me I was the one for him. It made me think about what that even meant....because I didn't believe in "the one".
December 2007. My boyfriend and I had just gotten back together the August before after a 3 month split which was due to me not believing he was "the one". I was SOOO wrong, and have wanted to marry him ever since.
I always knew I wanted to get married and have a family. I knew that my hubby was the one less then 2 months after we started dating. :D

I had never really thought about it when I was little because I was a big tomboy. Mine was in 2004, I went to Vegas for the first time and it was during the afternoon and I was leaving the Bellagio. A bride walked out of the door next to me and she was so gorgeous. She was smiling and the whole wedding party was there. It seemed kind of magical or something. I think brides have this aura about them. I knew right then that I wanted to get married and in vegas.
