@spraguebride: I really thought I started to look pregnant and feel less chubby around 22/24 weeks (definitely less of a "big meal" belly).
Now at 33 weeks I have a totally round belly - so its crazy because looking back I thought I had more of a bump than I actually did.
Rather than just looking fat? I started really looking pregnant at 19ish weeks. I'm 22 weeks now and people keep saying (at work) how different I look everytime they see me. They make comments about my "bump" now and not the "you don't even look pregnant" UGH. That drove me crazy...I told them "well, to me I do. Especially when I'm naked" :O lol. That usually shut them up.
I'm 19 weeks and it really depends on what I'm wearing as to whether or not I look pregnant or I'm just getting fat. It's depressing that I don't think I really look pregnant.
I was just feeling this way today as i tried on a few things at dillards. I am only 15 weeks and i just look like i have been eating a bunch. I am ready for the difinitive bump.
i'm 25 weeks, and it still doesn't really look like a pregnant belly yet....just looks like "a beer belly"
I'm 19 weeks and while I can see it's popping out it's not overly noticeable.
Don't forget that women carry in many different ways depending on your body type and weight. Some never pop straight out, some go way out, some carry all around the middle and some don't ever get very large. We're all different.
I'm right there with you...I am 17.5 weeks and I have a definite belly sticking out....but it's not a oh, 'Tatum might be pregnant' bump, it's a 'Tatum looks like she's been hitting the beer and wings pretty hard lately and it's starting to show'. Blah. I was getting ready for Easter dinner yesterday and started crying because nothing I wanted to wear looked right on me. My husband was baffled and was like, you're 4 months pregnant, what do you expect? Well, I want to look pregnant, not FAT, and right now it's the latter. If I am further along in my pregnancy (like over 5 months) and I still have a beer gut, I'd probably be okay with that, but at this point, I want a hard bump or nothing. Oh well.
I didnt look pregnant until probably 23 weeks Id say? To me I did, but others were clueless.
I think everyone is different, but I am 19 weeks now, and am just starting to actually look like a "bump" rather than I ate too much at lunch. It's definitely a little depressing to feel so fat, and it makes it feel so much better when it actually gets to looking like you're pregnant.
With Moose (first baby), it wasn't until about 4-5 months. Wombat (second baby), 6 weeks and it was obvious, like people at work talking.
17 weeks I felt like I had a nice bump, where I didn't look fat, after that, the belly got bigger, but so did everything else :(
I was on both ends of the spectrum.
To people who know me I think really, really early. Lots of people guessed and we didn't even wait until the end of the first trimester to tell people.People who don't know me - maybe not until the very end of the 2nd trimester, when my belly finally passed my boobs. Honestly, I didn't get a single comment from anyone that I didn't know me about being pregnant until I was in my third trimester.
For family/friends now that I'm in my last month they all look at me and say oh my gosh your belly's so big you're going early. But when we went out to a birthday party this weekend half the people didn't notice and would come up later and say I didn't even see you were pregnant before, I should have said congrats. The only thing I can think of is I live in a college town so maybe scrawny arms with a big beer belly isn't all that uncommon.
@Tatum: My husband is the same way!!! I get all frustrated and he looks at me and says, well what do you expect? Or my personal fave "have YOU ever seen a skinny pregnant woman, cause I haven't!?" Well I was sure hoping to stay skinny a little longer, jerk :p lol
I'm definetly popping out at 16 weeks 1 day, picking out clothes this morning was torture! I'll have to take a picture I suppose. Well actually to me it's popping out it probably looks like fat to others though.
the first time a stranger had the balls to ask me what i was having (boy or girl) i was 16 weeks. i had just eaten a huge burger and am still convinced that i didn't look undeniably pregnant because i had coworkers who couldn't tell...some people are just so brave! lol.
for the a few weeks after that, people who knew would comment on my bump and i definitely felt bigger but looking back it wasn't as obvious as it felt.
at 22 weeks i started to look obviously pregnant to everyone.
I didnt start showing until almost my 8th month and then i blew up; I was so round by then but looked a little flabby from month 6 until then...
Not until the 3rd trimester! But it's been fun rocking the pregnancy belly now :)
I'm 13wks, and I feel like I look undeniably pregnant, and now that the pregnancy is "public," (as of today) I'm anxious to look pregnant to the world, and not just like I have a belly. And yet, today when I announced my pregnancy at work, the most often heard comment (besides the congratulations) was "you don't even look pregnant!" Bah, not what this pregnant lady wants to hear. I feel your pain. (There were a couple of women who said they thought I was pregnant before because I was developing a belly, and they had noticed all the jackets, scarves, and sweaters I had been wearing to try to cover it. At least they dont' think I've just been gaining weight... They made my day.)
I would say now at 20-22 weeks I really "popped" and it went to a clearly defined bump. It still isn't totally noticable if I wear a baggy shirt but its getting there quickly.
People who knew that I was pregnant talked about my bump at about 20 weeks. The first person to notice who didn't know about the pregnancy was at about 27 weeks.
This week (week 24) a couple of people have mentioned that I'm starting to show, but it's barely noticable as a definite bump, and no one who doesn't already know would be able to tell. I started wearing maternity pants, but still have no problem wearing most of my regular shirts.
Not until the around the 6 month. Even the 6th-7th depending on what I was wearing, some people would just think I gained weight and had a belly. I am due to give birth soon and I got very big so there's no mistaken now. I'm all belly though, but I can't wait to get back to my normal body.
I guess around 18-20 weeks was when it was pretty obvious, since I'm a rather petite gal it didn't take long for the bump to get even with my teeny boobs. Then the boobs started growing more and now it seems like they're just keeping up with each other, belly and boobs. I'm at 24 weeks now, and while it's obvious I'm pregnant, it's not a pretty bump. We had a party last week, and a girl due a month later than I am (she's having a boy, I'm having a girl) has the traditional huge, round, hard cute bump. And I have a creepy wiggly wide bump. Supposedly this is the old wives' tale come to life. I'm so jealous of her bump, but not her due date, haha! I'm really ready for this sucker to pop. Also in development is my belly button, sucker is starting to try and pop out!

I am 16 weeks today and right now I just look like I ate too many cheeseburgers! haha!
I am eager to get a round bump and not just look a little flabby.
When did you feel that you finally looked pregnant and not just chubby?
