Posting to follow. I’m in the same boat – 16 weeks and not showing. My jeans are a little snug but that’s about it.

@Lemon-Squeezy:  I had a pointy, friends and family knew it bump from about 18 weeks, but it didn’t really round out and look obvious to strangers until 24 or so weeks. I am 5’5 and very overweight, but now at 29 weeks I look like I’m smuggling a basketball under my shirt, LOL!

@Lemon-Squeezy:  Size 12, started showing with my first around 5 months…I was 19, and that was when I told me parents cause I couldn’t hide it anymore.

With later pregnancies I started showing much earlier.

I don’t think I started showing until I was around 6 months. Even with having an almost 9lb baby I only gained 19lbs throughout my pregnancy. 2 weeks after giving birth, I weighed less than I did before getting pregnant! Lol

@LincsMama:  That sounds amazing, to weigh less after than before! I am really hoping that’ll happen with me, I’ve only gained 11lbs and haven’t added to it in over 3 months!

@Lemon-Squeezy:  The reason women show faster and more with subsequent pregnancies is because the uterus already “knows” what it’s doing since it’s done the stretching out before, so the muscle memory works to grow the uterus more quickly without as much effort, if that makes sense. It’s expecially true if you have them close together.

@Lemon-Squeezy:  Why yes, I know exactly why. Two things actually. One is that your hormones (who’ve already had a pregnancy’s worth of practice) start doing when they’re supposed to earlier and relax your joints and what-not. The other is that your muscles are already stretched out from their previous stretching.

ETA: I personally was neither bigger or smaller with subsequent pregnancies. But I could feel the weight of it more and I had to use one of those belts to help hold it up. But that was my own fault for not keeping my abdominal muscles toned enough to do their own job.

I’ve got a pretty athletic build I think.  I’m also really tall (6’0″) and have a long torso in addition to that.

I could tell myself that I was showing around 17 weeks or so but no one else really could…especially not strangers.  My close friends/family could probably tell a little bit, but I wasn’t showing much.

I don’t think the general public could tell until recently.  I think around 25 weeks people might have thought I was but they weren’t sure enough to risk congratulating me, lol.  Strangers finally congratulated me around 27 weeks or so, so I was showing enough then they weren’t afraid of congratulating me!

This is me at 21 weeks

and this was 27 weeks

@Lemon-Squeezy:  I’m also slim and athletic. I wasn’t clearly visibly pregnant until 30 weeks! So I hope you show faster than I did!

@Lemon-Squeezy:  I felt like a house, but I don’t think I was really that big compared to some people. Luckily, 9 months later, I’m still 5lbs less than before! Woo hoo! …not really sure how though, I haven’t really done anything different.

@jadlnc:  I think women do tend to show earlier after the first. I imagine your stomach muscles aren’t quite as tough anymore. I’m not looking forward to that when we try for #2! Haha

I am 5’0 and was size 12-14 pre-pregnancy. I think I started to actually show when I was 16 weeks, but maybe not to strangers. By 19 weeks I was definitely noticeably pregnant.
