I've had to go ahead & take my engagement ring off, but it was 1/2 a size smaller than my wedding band do I kinda figured I'd have to. Lol
Now at 29 weeks & 27lbs gain I have some days where I feel big, but for the most part feel pretty good. Hopefully with enough walking & water intake I won't really have any swelling! I didn't with my last one anyways & I gained bookoos of weight. Lol
I think it differs. I am 29+4 and I've felt HUGE since... 25-ish weeks? That's when I started to swell. My belly had a total growth spurt between 24 and 28 weeks and I also got tremendously swollen, feet, ankles, legs, hands and face.
My doctor said to avoid salt and stay off my feet and drink tons of water. So far, not really working. She said that some women just get really swollen and there's nothing you can really do about it. My mom, aunt and grandma all got very swollen while they were pregnant too, so I'm inclined to believe it may be one of those things that can run in families too.
I am 27 weeks, and feeling pretty ok. Luckily my rings are too big to begin with! But my gain so far is about 15 lbs (9 at 24 weeks, so I am estimating). I only feel big in the evenings when I am watching tv and needing to get up and pee every 25 seconds! Other than that, so far I am ok. But I still have plenty of time left!!! The third trimester begins in a few days!!! Ask me then!
I will be 25 weeks tomorrow and so far all my rings still fit, no tightness, no swelling yet. Cross your fingers!
As of my appointment 2 weeks ago I had gained 22 lbs! But I'm tiny to begin with. I've noticed my face have gotten fuller.
I don't feel "big" but last week or two after dinners have been very uncomfortable in my belly. Trying to combat that by not immediately sitting down on the couch after dinner!
I felt big from about 12 weeks haha. I had gained about 12 lbs but had no baby belly to show for it. With that said I started feeling huge at about 32 weeks . I knew my belly was stretched beyond capacity at that point because I started getting stretch marks.
So far I am feeling pretty not-big. But, I also haven't gained all that much weight. The last few days I have started to feel tightness in my stomach, but I don't have swelling much in my face, hands, feet or anything! I am expecting to grow quite a bit here in the coming weeks, so I will touch base with you then :)
I started feeling bloated early on. I didn't feel "big" belly-wise until over twenty weeks, but I did feel big boobs-wise pretty early on. My God, it was like they were on steriods on something, I thought they were going to explode my first trimester.
I've felt big since day one, since I was bloated and started showing early. But in terms of what you're specifically talking about, it's started for me recently..and I'm 33+3. I'd say after 30 weeks it hit. That's when I started just feeling like "omg, I'm enormous" and seeing it in my face, hands feel swollen a lot, feet seem big, limbs seem big, and of course, belly is huge.. haha.
With DD, I didn't start to feel huge and uncomfortable until 37 weeks, although I started noticing swelling at about 26/27 weeks. It was pretty manageable until 37 weeks, though.
With this pregnancy, I've felt huge from the beginning! Most women show earlier with their second, and I've been measuring consistently bigger at every appointment than I did at the same point in my first pregnancy. I also started swelling sooner (maybe 22/23 weeks?), so that played a part in it, as well.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
I am 23 weeks, and don't have any swelling yet and my face is not bigger or anything, but I noticed my first stretch marks today on my boobs. They have gone up three cup sizes since I have been pregnant... EEEK! They better shrink back down, cause huge tatas is not a good look for me.
I haven't had any swelling whatsoever, and my ring still fits perfectly. But I still feel so big, this tummy is in the way of everything, it's really hard to bend over, roll over, squat and sometimes walk haha. I started feeling big around the beginning of my third trimester, between 28-30 weeks was a huge difference for me in terms of how I felt physically. I also started getting extremely tired all of a sudden and lost a lot of energy. I'm adjusting to the changes now, and learning to deal with the new physical challenges and balance my emotions as well, but it's definitely a lot harder! I take naps probably 5/7 days.
I just had to come back to this thread and say that last night, I tried to take a bath. My belly was hanging out of the water (and it looked HUGE!), and I got cold, so I tried to lay down farther in the water, but that didn't work, so I tried to get up, and oh my god, I felt like a beached whale. I literally couldn't get up. Needless to say, it was a short bath. And I officially feel enormous.
Today. I feel big today. 22 weeks. Socks and shoes are beginning to pose a challenge because of the bending required. Every morning DH asks if I need help. My pride won't let him step in quite this early. But I did let him load me up with my purse and gym bag as I was heading out the door. I just didn't have another bend to the floor in me this morning.
I don't look huge. But I definitely feel that way. Also, baby girl seems to like the left side of my belly today. Because if I look at my belly, everything to the left of the belly button sticks out further than the right side. Weird.
I feel big today after weighing myself, but I'm starting to not care unless my Dr has something to say about it. My belly is getting so much bigger at 25 weeks!
@AvantLaLettre: Aww...you have to admit you probably looked pretty cute in there with the belly sticking up!!
@AvantLaLettre: haha I do that too! Now, I take a warm washcloth and drape it over my tummy and chest if I get too cold, then I can stay in there :)
I started to feel horrible at about 35 weeks. I got out of breath when I walked so I had to sit down all the time. I just felt like a huge fat ass and wanted to be skinny again-the bump wasn't fun anymore, I couldn't bend over, couldn't sleep comfortable, not to mention the heartburn, kicking, and the whole "head in your crotch" is really uncomfortable. my husband had to help me put on socks and shoes.
When I look at pictures of myself at 41 ( yes! 41w1d!!) weeks I don't look as big as I felt. It's so crazy.
I know I don't look huge, but at 26 weeks, I am feeling rather large. I'm growing out of a lot of my maternity clothes, and can no longer wear both my wedding and engagment rings. I also lose my balance easily and keep slamming my head into things. Just this past week, though, it really started becoming apparent, as my rib cage is now painfully stretching for my uterus to fit. It hurts pretty much all the time and my doctor said it could get better if my ribs loosen up some or my uterus drops down, but more likely, it'll just get worse.
@bree72: I am feeling weird pains in my ribs too! I feel like my skin is stretching so tight that it is going to rip... it is so tight and hard that it hurts! There is no way it's going to look pretty once that baby's out.

I know that a lot of people talk about how their face gets bigger and their feet/hands start to get swollen. I have also heard that a lot of women have to take their rings off at some point in the pregnancy because their fingers get so big. At what point did you start to experience this??
