For those married ladies, I was wondering how long after the wedding did you send your thank you cards? I’m in the middle of my big stack of cards right now and I’m trying to write meaningful messages so it’s taking a little longer than I had hoped. One of my friends made a strange comment to me the other day when I mentioned that I was still working on thank you cards, basically saying “Oh. You haven’t thanked people yet? ..Well…better late than never I guess…” I’ve been married since April 7th, so it’s been about 3 months…I’ve just been so busy though, moving out and settling down and working…
When did you send out cards?
Here’s a pic of my custom thank you cards, just for fun! 😀

commenting to follow… I’d like to know what is an “appropriate” timeline as well

I wrote them all (all 120 of them) on our flight home from our honeymoon. They were sent out about a week later. It would have been the day after we got back except that I developed a flu that had me sick for a good solid week.

@MrsPaulsBabyBallerina: Wow!!!! You are one amazing woman, my friend! I wouldn’t be able to write 120 cards in one sitting.

I’ll get flamed if I answer this question!

I wrote and sent them 2 weeks after the wedding. All by myself. Couldn’t stand to have it hanging over my head.

Within 1 month of the wedding for gifts we received at or before the wedding. We were on our honeymoon for three weeks, so I spent the entire week after our honeymoon doing thank you notes. Not fun.
We received some gifts when we were on our honeymoon and after, but I haven’t sent thank you notes yet. But generally those will be sent within 2 months of receiving them.

I leave for the honeymoon 4 days after the wedding, so unless I do it during that timeframe I’m in the 1-2 month bracket. My honeymoon is going to be over 2 weeks, and making sure all our traveling ducks are in a row are my top priority.

hmmm maybe I really am behind :/. Oh well, I guess I didn’t feel pressure because my friend sent hers out like a year after her wedding.

We did our “thank you” photos on our day after shoot, which was a little over a month after the wedding, then waited another 3 weeks to get those photos back, and it took another 2 weeks after that to make the cards and get them printed. And then another week to write and mail them. So, all in all, it was probably about 10 weeks after the wedding before they were finally sent.

@lovekiss: we also did our thank you picture on our day-after shoot (which was more like a month after), and had to design and order the cards. It’s quite a process!

So cute! Ours were probably sent out within two months because we were waiting on pro photos to print. But really, as a guest, as long as I eventually receive a thank-you card, I don’t personally care when it arrives in relation to the wedding. Don’t stress too much!

I had them all written and mailed 2-3 weeks after the wedding. It really annoys me when thank you notes take months and months to get mailed (sorry!).
