    So we have had a lot of changes recently with the baby and now we just bought a house and will be closing on it in 12 days!! I am a little stressed with getting all our stuff packed, cleaning both houses, and then all the work my husband has to do on the new house. This process was a lot faster than I anticipated. But I really haven't focused on getting the baby room set up. I Think after mid Nov I will be able to really focus on it. After the move, traveling for 2 weddings, and my husbands birthday.By then I will be like 24 weeks.

    When did you guys start to get ready for the baby room??

    Oh not until after the 7 month mark! My husband and I didn't set up the crib until 2 weeks before my due date, I painted like a maniac in a fit of nesting.

    Honestly I thought the baby room would be a huge deal, but those first couple of months DD was in the bassinet in the family room, I changed her on the living room floor most of the time and she ate and slept mostly in my arms. I really only used the baby room to put her clothes away.

    My guess is that we'll start thinking about this after the new year....and by then i'll be over 20 weeks.  We have a 2+ bedroom condo so any kind of change will turn our place upside down and I'm just not looking forward to that.  Also, we'll just be too busy until after the holidays to start to think about it.  We don't plan to do any painting (the room is already a camel beige) though.

    we are turning our office into the baby room, and right now it is filled with ALL of my wedding decorations, my old couch from high school and a computer we don't use. We have just started streamlining and throwing away the junk this week. It will probably be at least a couple months (we are moving slowly) until we get all the crap out of it and are able to start moving baby stuff in.

    We bought a new house and moved when I was 8 months preggo. So I didn't get to start it until I was at least 8 1/2 months.

    We did a big remodel on the nursery and our bathroom, which we started when I was still in the first trimester.  I don't think we actually started putting baby stuff into the nursery until 30+ weeks, though.  And it wasn't completely finished until DD was 6 months old, since the artist we hired to paint a mural on her wall had a lot of pregnancy problems and couldn't finish until then.

    I'm 31 wks now and my husband is in the middle of painting the nursery. Hopefully the crib and dresser will be put together by next week. My baby shower is Sunday and I want to be able to organize and put everything away while I still have the energy to do so! Right now the nursery is just a clutter of all the baby stuff I've gotten so far and that will only get worse after Sunday :)

    We'll probably start after we find out the gender.

    I'm a little bit of an overplanner and so we basically started the nursery asap. When I was 6 weeks we started looking on Kijiji for nice used furniture and we found a stunning solid wood crib/dresser-changer/night stand set for a total STEAL and it was in amazing condition so we jumped at the chance to get it. It lived at my in-laws house for a week while we got the room painted then we moved it in (to get it out of their living room). So basically the whole place was painted/furnished by the time I was 8 weeks. There is still lots to be done, we need to empty out the closet of all our wedding stuff (so long wedding room, we won't miss you!) and my BFF is going to come paint a border along the top for us.

    @artbee:

    I have a feeling I'll be like you!

    We're hopefully closing on our new home next week. But there's some big demolition and renovation we want to do prior to moving in so who knows how long that will take? And we're letting the current owners stay till 12/5 because they are building a new home that's been delayed. With the holidays following immediately after I don't see much progress happening till the new year.

    I really hope we can bring baby home to our forever home though.

    I'm due the middle of January and wanted to have the nursery done early in the 3rd trimester because we only have 4 weekends that don't already have something going on between now and when the baby's due.  We're trying to get it done, but we still have to get all of the current office furniture out of the room to make it into a nursery.... so who knows when it'll actually get done!

    We didn't even get our baby furniture until the baby was 8 weeks old, so the nursery wasn't set up until then.  We just used a playpen with a bassinet and changing table and that worked fine.

    I will be around 27 to 29 weeks before we begin putting things together. We already have the crib picked out, but we will not pick it up until after the shower. We are having custom bedding made so that will take about 4 weeks. Which would still make it in time. We will not have to paint because the walls will go well with the decor (oatmeal color). I will begin washing his clothes, buying what he needs, and putting everything away by Feb. I am due on Feb. 19th. Our families are coming for Christmas so I am sure they will help us set up.
