I know that every woman is different, but I wonder when most of you starting to show.

I'm asking about 1st time moms because I know they say that 2nd time moms show much much earlier.

I think that WE may notice that we are showing before OTHERS notice when we are showing. When did you feel that you were starting to show?

I'd say around 22-24 weeks was when I became unable to hide it. I noticed a difference around 16 weeks BUT that's because I had a relatively flat stomach before - it looked mostly like I'd had a big meal but I couldn't suck it in.

My doctor said height, build and muscle tone make a huge difference in when women start to show (and like you said - previous pregnancies).

I mean I could tell even with clothes on from really early, like 6-8 weeks.  After I ate a meal I just had this weird pooch that never was there before, I think it was just bloating weirdness but it wasn't my normal body.  I noticed a real pooch around 3 or so months but it's not anything anyone else would notice.  My belly didn't pop out past my boobs until like 27 weeks though.  People who knew me over Christmas could tell and I was about 17 weeks then but if you didn't know me it could be overlooked as a beer belly.

I noticed earlier, but I think it didn't become un-hide-able till 22 weeks or so. I also wear a lot of long scarves to work that tend to obscure the dimensions of my midsection, so I'm pretty sure there were people who didn't realize it till closer to 24-26 weeks.

With Moose, my first; it was about 5 months.  With Wombat, my second; before 4 weeks. It's crazy how early the second one pops. Honestly, I was about as big as I am now with with Wombat at 21 weeks as I was with Moose at 34 weeks.

i started to be able to tell my clothes weren't fitting quite the same around 12 weeks. the first stranger noticed at 17 weeks. i'm not yet to the point where it's completely un-hideable yet though, but i feel like i expand daily! and i usually look bigger by the end of the day for some reason...

Im in the same boat as Camrie.  I noticed sooner, but I had a muscular and flat stomach to start.  Im at 22 weeks now, and I can still hide it with a loose cami, but if Im in a tighter shirt its pretty unmistakeable now.  Just last week it looked like Id eaten too much (there is a pic in a post somewhere around here =o))  So Id say around 21 - 22 weeks was when I really started.

I haven't noticed yet, but apparently others around me can? We don't see DH's grandparents very often and when we saw them last night his Opa said that I'm starting to get a little pouch :/

I am at 18 weeks and I'm showing a lot.  I started wearing maternity pants around 10 weeks and am just now wearing maternity tops.

I started showing about 12 weeks I think. I was very thin when I got pregnant and gained a lot of weight.

@TheFutureMcBride:  Really?!  That scares me for the next one!

I started showing at about 3 months, but I'm pretty short with a small frame, so I assumed that's why I showed so early.  Gah, I wonder how fast I'll show with the next one!

Only at 6 months or so did it become noticeable to others. I didn't even wear maternity clothes until close to 7. But, I'm small and only gained 20 lbs, so that might be why.

@firsttimemom: Don't let that bother you too much - as SOON as people know you're pregnant they'll all say they can "I can see a bump" every time they see you - mostly they're full of crap. I bet most people wouldn't notice till much later if they didn't know.

@Mrs. Spring: Dude, I peed on a stick because I was showing before I even missed a period. That and my amazing bowling skills showing back up again ensured my pregnancy. I didn't even make it through the first trimester before people are work started talking. It's bad.

@TheFutureMcBride:  Bwahaha, so you're saying you were bowling 18 mph with Moose, too?  :)

I can't believe how much earlier you were showing with Wombat, though!  At that rate, I'll be showing moments after implantation with our next!

@Mrs. Spring: I had my first and only 200+ games when I was pregnant with Moose. Prior to Moose, my average was ~130; it went to ~150 while I was pregnant.

I was told that your co-workers and friends will know you're pregnant before you do with the second. It was totally true. Maternity pants by week 4. Giant belly at week 19. I'm scared what's going to happen in the third trimester.

I thought I was starting to show at 16 weeks, but looking back at pictures, I probably didn't really have a belly until 21/22 weeks, and didn't really need maternity pants until maybe 24 weeks (though I started wearing them at 20 weeks with a bellaband because it was more comfortable than my other pants).

I would say I have a pretty small but defined bump, and it appeared around 14 weeks. I'm at 17 now, and it's pretty puffed out and hard. It doens't look so much like it's just bloat or weight gain, since it has that half moon shape. I can't wait for it to get really pronounced, becuase right now I just get a bunch of funny "is she or isn't she" looks. I'm about 5'4" and was 120 pre-preggo, so I think being small made me show a bit earlier. The baby has nowhere to go but out!

DH and I could tell around 16 weeks, but no one else could and I was still wearing my regular clothes... started wearing my regular pants with a Bella Band not long after that and finally had to switch to maternity pants around week 22 I think.  I'm 32 weeks now and over the last two or three weeks I've been getting a lot of "oh NOW you look pregnant" commments!

@ TheFutureMcBride - that's crazy!!  I knew most people show earlier after their first, but 4 weeks!?  I will definitely be hanging on to these maternity clothes, lol!  And hilarious about your bowling score... I don't bowl very often at all but DH and I went for Valentine's Day and I kicked his ass!  He usually beats me by at least 50-60, and I took three games in a row!

I think it's pretty obvious now (I'm 21 weeks) and it's kind of freaking me out. I wonder, am I gaining too much weight? Why am I showing when other people say they aren't?

But I am. I think I started showing a couple of weeks ago, though I noticed about a month ago, if not more. I got thicker right away.

This is my first, I'm 5'0/ 120 normally, and about 133 now (but who's counting?).  I definitely have a round belly.

This is my first pregnancy, and at almost 19 weeks I'm still at the "big lunch" stage. No definite baby bump yet. Can't wait though!

Aww... why am I kind of missing my pregnancy right now?  I started showing at 23-24 weeks.  Savor these moments, ladies.  It will all be over so quickly!

@Mrs. DG:  How quickly you romanticize pregnancy, right?  :)  I can not WAIT for our next one!

@Mrs. Spring: In some ways I'm sad that Cecilia is our first and last belly baby... but I know it's the right choice for us (makes it easier to romanticize too!).  I'd pretty much have to start trying right now if we were going to have a second bio baby and I'm just not ready for that.

This thread is totally helping me!  I started telling people at work this week and a lot of the comments were things like, I thought you might be pregnant, or I was worried we were going to have to give you a diet book.  Apparently I was showing much earlier than I thought.

@Mrs. DG:  Ah, I'm a little nostalgic for you; luckily you turned out pure perfection on your first try.  Most people aren't nearly that lucky.  :)
