I just had my shower, and a lot of the gifts were bought off the registry like only within a couple days before I think. Haha or they were bought between the last time I checked a few days before and the shower.
I was registering on Saturday & noticed a couple in a rush saying to a sales associate: "We need to buy a gift NOW. Actually, we're supposed to actually BE there right now!"

As soon as people received my STD with our website on it (and registry) we started receiving gifts. It's SO fun!
A small number of people bought early, and most bought in the week before the wedding/shower.
I think we got our first gift off it really soon after we publicized our wedding website (6 months before wedding.)
Now that a date has been set for the shower, late August, it seems that people are buying stuff kinda regularly. (I'm really curious as to who. And some of it is super random! Like, a serving spoon!)
@Fegele- maybe most people are giving cash? That seems to be really common for the actual wedding itself in some circles.
I don't think though...I had this feeling that some of the guests just want to pretend that they didn't see my website (or the registry info on it)...Like there is one guest who asked me to RSVP on our website for him, cuz he doesn't want to bother and look on it...He finally did rsvp...Man I got enough things to do besides RSVPing for guests myself...
We haven't had anyone buy anything yet. But we are still pretty far out.
We sent our invitations out last week and we have already had 5 gifts bought! Its still 2 months until our wedding. Mind you, we know who 3 of them are, because they collected the gift and then gave it to us rather than having it delivered.
We also met one person in the store when we were adding a few things and he told us that we didnt have enough expensive things on there! Lucky he was there with a gift suggestion!
I cant believe you only have 3 gifts bought with 10 days to go!! I would usually buy one shortly after we received the invitation to make sure all the options were available!
We got couple more gifts now. So total is 4 gifts yay...One of which is from my mom, who bought us many many things for the wedding already, she just wanted to get us something from the registry. Another is from our brother...Other people don't really bother I guess...
And 2 more days to go!

Just wondering. We got only one gift bought off of our 3 registries, and it's 10 days till the wedding.
