I sent out my Save-The-Date Cards about 7 mo in advance. I plan to send my invites out 8 weeks in advance (trying to make it before the prices go up for postage in january!) with an RSVP deadline 4 weeks before the wedding.

About 6-8 weeks in advance, no Save-The-Date Cards. We didnt have any Out of Town guests, so we didnt feel they were necessary. Our RSVP deadline is exactly 4 weeks before… that way I have 2 extra weeks to track down the deadbeats who dont RSVP. lol

I sent out some Save-The-Date Cards (only to a select few out of town relatvies) about 9 months in advance (a week a go!). I plan to send invitations a bit early, probably about 10 weeks in advance, because we have 45 guest max capacity at our venue, so we’re considering a b-list!

I said more than 8 weeks but really it wasn’t THAT much more than 8 weeks.  Maybe 9 weeks?  I had them done for months and just wanted them out the door.  But I do agree that I kind of roll my eyes when I get an invitation WAY before I expect to.

We sent ours out 6.5 weeks before the wedding, with an RSVP deadline of just a couple weeks after that. I’m very glad we did it that way rather than sending them out three months in advance, because people were on the whole very prompt in sending back their RSVPs. I do believe that if they’d had more time before the deadline, they would have tossed the invitation on a desk to be buried and forgotten about. And we had done Save-The-Date Cards some six months before the wedding.

I think you should do it a little earlier than early November. People will be making holiday travel and party plans – you want people to have the “oh, right! the wedding!” reminder. Even if you have Save-The-Date Cards, it helps to have a physical invite reminder on the early side of things, since people will probably forget between the STD and actual invite.

Ours will be a Destination Wedding for 2/3 of the guests.  I’m going to mail the invitations to our March 19 wedding on Dec 24, so that they will arrive just after Christmas so that people will remember to make their hotel arrangements.

Wedding is October 10th. STD’s went out early Feb (8 months), invites got sent out August 17th w/ an RSVP date of Sept 18th.

I was so nervous about everything going out, especially because of the date (10/10/10). We may have sent everything a little earlier than needed, but it helps me keep a sound mind, lol.

We’re hoping to have them out before 8 weeks because the wedding is in Panama. Like @CaraMia10, we sent the Save-The-Date Cards early. I want to get as much done as possible as soon as possible!

We just started printing our invitations last night!! We’re planning to mail them the first week of September, and give guests a month to respond.
