I bustled mine right after the family pictures, but I'm not sure if that's the "proper" time or not. It probably doesn't matter either way.
We're doing our formal shots before the ceremony, so I hope we'll bustle up right after the ceremony!
We did photos before the wedding and I bustled my dress, because I was worried about getting stuff in the train and hem (dirt, grass, etc). However, in looking at the photos, I wish I had taken more with the train down, just so I had more pics of it.
I didn't bustle mine until after all of our pictures were taken (bustled right before our entrance into the reception). I like that we got a lot of pictures with my train laid out. However, my train was also super light, so if you have a big, heavy train or a complicated bustle, you might want to do it before all of the pictures just for convenience's sake.

Hi everyone,
Just wondering - when did you (or will you) bustle your dress - right after the ceremony and before pictures or after pictures? I have a very long and fabulous royal train on my dress, and I don't know if should bustle it before or after my outside family pictures. Thoughts/suggestions? If I don't bustle it until after the pictures, have any of you had success with putting a white sheet under the train to keep it clean?
