My wedding date is 4/24/10 and I’m expecting my wedding invitiations to arrive from the printer today (yippie!!!). How long can I take to address them before I have to get them mailed out? What’s the protocol on this?

I think generally they get mailed 6-8 weeks before the wedding.

Agreed with PP….find out when you need a final headcount….estimate how long it may take you to contact guests who don’t rsvp on time and set the rsvp accordingly. Also, if you have setup a hotel room block, when is the deadline (typically a month before the wedding), so be sure to allow guests enough time to receive and make travel arrangements.

I sent mine out exactly 8 weeks in advance, since my wedding is a Destination Wedding and people need time to plan/book flights, etc. And I had sent out Save-The-Date Cards six months in advance. I think with DWs, it’s imporant to get invitations out earlier than usual.

So wierd bc I just looked on my Knot checklist and they say to mail the invites out 3 months in advance, which I have never heard of! So now I’m confused…I always thought the 8 weeks was pretty standard…

I’d go w/ the 8 weeks. That is what I’ve usually heard of.
