Give them to the people at the front desk of your wedding hotel, tell them which wedding they're associated with, and they'll hand them to people as they check in (or leave them in their rooms after housekeeping if you prefer they be distributed that way).
Don't wait until the ceremony, you don't want people digging through goodie bags at your wedding!
I was just to a wedding two months ago where we had to travel. When we checked in at the hotel the person at the front desk gave us our OOT bag! It was a nice touch. Inside the bag was two bottles of water some candy and snacks and a breakfast ticket for the morning after! It was a great idea! The only thing I might add would be some advil..just in case:) good luck!!
my guests are in a couple different hotels, so Ill be taking the bags to each of their hotels, and just having the front desk give them to the guest when they get there. For those whose hotel info I dont get, I will have them at our welcome party, and then if they still dont get them, Ill call and figure out where they are. :)
I'm having the hotel put them in their rooms before they check in. We're putting in pamphlets about the area, some info about us and our party, water bottles, granola bars, fruit snacks, a pen and post-it notes (maybe). I like the idea of travel Advil though ...
We're giving them out at an informal dinner we are hosting the night before. Our guests are staying in different hotels so it would be too difficult to hunt them all down.
@soontobekatieb: A welcome party?! That is brilliant! I really wanted to do OOT bags, but since our folks will be scattered all over, SO thought it might be a waste of my time and effort. BUT if we're having a welcome party, I could hand them out there! Soontobekatieb...I appreciate your genius!
The hotel I am staying at offered to hand them out to guests as they check in. So they will be at the desk and will get a beg when they arrive.
I left them with the hotel's front desk for them to give to guests as they checked in. For those guests who weren't staying @ the hotel (they were staying with people they knew locally), I discreetly distributed them @ rehearsal dinner.
We are giving ours out at the welcome party 2 nights before the wedding. For those who wont be there for that, we will give it to them at the rehearsal dinner!
The goodies bag was waiting for us in our room when we checked in at the last OOT wedding I went to. It was such a nice greeting! It was nice to know that the bride and groom were thinking of us and truly appreciated the fact that we traveled.
Our hotel (we got a room block) will hand them to guests as they check in.
We had the hotel keep the bags and give them to guests as they arrived. Our first guests were arriving on Thursday so we took them over Thursday morning so they would be there when guests arrived.
Thanks, all! OOT bags are not on the priority list at the moment but when we get to the point where we have time to think about it, I'd loooove to do it. I love the city we are getting married in. Greensboro, NC, that is!
I have a room block at a very nice hotel. They told me today that they charge to give out OOT bags. $5 per bag!
We are bringing in $6000 in business to the hotel. I can't believe it. Is this common?

I've seen the beginning of many a post about out of town guest bags, but I usually stopped after I got to the image of the bags because I never thought that I would be making the bags myself for any of my guests.
Now that I am thinking about preparing OOT bags, I wonder: when do the guests get their bags?
So you leave them at the hotel lobby? Give it to them at the ceremony?
