We are planning a secular ceremony with my aunt as the officiant (she will either become a notary or become ordained on line). We will have two speakers during the ceremony and I am just not sure where to put them. The basic plan is to have a welcome, definition of marriage, staement of intent, and vows. My guess is it would work best after definition of marriage and some sort of segway….what do you all think?

Do you mean like people doing readings etc? Because usually (at least at the weddings i’ve been to) they go in between the declarations of intent and the vows: after the whole “this is what marriage is for, this is what these two have decided to commit to” section but before the “do you take him etc” business.

We had three readings (I assume this is what you mean). One came before the welcome, one after the welcome and one after the rings. I don’t think it really matters, you can find lots of outlines and templates online that will help!

Thanks! Yes I did mean readings 🙂

We had three readings. One was pretty much right after the welcome. The next was after the priest gave his introduction and his speaking. And the final was after the vows.
