hi ladies, I'm about to go run on my treadmill and then hop in the shower, and I just took my ring off and put it in the box it came in.. then I got curious as to when you ladies take off your ring, if ever??
I take mine off when I work out, shower, and sleep!
what about you?
I used to take it off to put lotion on, i put lotion on all day long, then I almost lost my e-ring. Now I mostly keep it on. But occasionally I take them off to put my lotion on. If they are off for more than a few minutes I freak, it's like being naked.
I only take it off if I am working on the wheel (pottery studio). I leave it at home and wear a silver ring instead. But I keep mine on all other times, even working with clay. That is it! Or, swimming in chlorine.
I take it off when I get home and it goes back on right before I leave again (unless I'm going to the gym). I also take it off if I'm washing my hands in public. I have two pave eternity bands, those things get filthy quickly.
I take mine off when I'm cooking usually with meat just because I'm paranoid of icky stuff getting on it. I take it off when I workout because my hands swell and I just don't like the feel. I also take it off when I take a shower and get ready in the mornings. I'll usually take it off right before I get in the shower and I put it back on after I get ready, right before I walk out the door. I haven't forgotten it yet!
When I sleep - it's raised, so I'm paranoid I'll hurt it. When I shower. I have super long hair and it gets caught in my hair...heck, my fingers get caught in my hair. Lol. And when I get ready, only because I get ready before I put it on as part of my morning routine. And other - swimming.
I only wear my ring when I leave the house (except if I'm going to the gym). I work from home so I'm home most of the time :)
I take it off when I shower or clean, or when I put foundation on (which is rarely lol)
I take mine off right when I get home. But I've always taken off all my jewelry right when I get home, (just a habit). And I put it on again when I leave. I also take it off when I put on lotion.
I should take it off when I sleep, i got 2 scares on my arms from gashes from my rock!
I only take it off when I shower, but as I've lost weight, it's been getting looser and looser, so I may not wear it at work until I can get it resized.
I take my E-ring off the moment I come home, it goes into its little box until the next morning when I leave for work.
I also don't wear it when I play volleyball, run or do any other type of excercise...it is remarkable uncomfortable when I sweat.
I take my rings off when I cook just so I don't have to clean the icky food off of them. Also when I clean with harsh chemicals & when I shower. I keep them on when I bath though. I only take them off when I shower so I don't drop them down the drain! Otherwise I wear them all the time, even when I sleep.
I take mine off a lot which I hate because, like others, I feel naked without them. I take them off before I go to bed (my rings tend to rub against each other when I sleep), when I do weight exercises (cardio I keep them on), cook, wash dishes, wash my hands, shower, and any other activity that could possibly get them dirty or cause damage.
Most of the time I keep the e-ring on, but latley after getting it nicely cleaned again, I take it off when I shower, or wash my hands or clean. Normally it doesn't come off the finger! :)
I actually have mine off most of the time, as well as cleaning, cooking, sleeping, showering etc also when I work, because I'm a nurse and I would feel awful if I ever scratched a patient (plus I don't want everything from work on my ring and it doesn't fit in gloves)
Well, I'm a skydiver and a scuba diver. not very safe to take my ring with me. also when I shower and when I wash my hands at home, not when I wash my hands in public places.
I take my ring off to clean, bake, shower, gym, pool. I also don't wear mine at work, because I work with homeless people and think it's tacky.
i have become pretty anal about the care of my rings because I have already lost a stone due to everyday activites. My rings get taken off when washing the dishes, cooking something messy or sticky, taking a shower, putting on lotion, putting on foundation, pretty much anything that involves getting my hands wet. I hated not having my ring for almost a month while they were fixing it.
I think I'm a bit anal about my ring - I take it off when I do just about anything except washing my hands. I take it off when I sleep because my hands swell so it's uncomfortable, when I shower because it gets caught in my hair, when I'm getting ready because I don't want to get lotion, hair product, etc. in it, when I work out because I don't want to scratch the bottom on the weights machines, when I cook so I don't get goop in it and when I clean so I don't get chemicals on it. Wow, I sound super anal. I'm sure that'll change when it's not so new. When I got engaged, my best friend got me a ring holder that goes by my bed, so I always know where it is when I take it off, and I keep a little container by the sink so I put it there when I wash dishes.
I take all jewelry off to wash my hair (hair tangled in an earring is no fun!) and swim (don't want to lose anything) and take off only my rings to work out and clean, and sometimes to put on lotion.
As many described, I almost lost my ring after we got engaged after washing my hands. I wasn't used to wearing a ring. After that mini heart attack, I only take it off to shower and clean (dishes, harsh chemicals, etc). Since I'm usually applying face lotion and hair products straight out of the shower, I put my ring on after I'm done. I've definitely become VERY conscious of where I place it.
I was married before and NEVER took my ring off- even when i was working with paint yadda...my new ring-WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY nicer.... this baby goes off whenever im Painting- in the shower- gardening, cleaning or cooking/baking & when my hands are immersed in ANYTHING besides water for more then a minute. I keep a ring box on both levels of my house so i have somewhere to quickly put it. I also have a ring pouch from the jewlers in my purse in case im not at home and want to take it off.
I leave mine on most of the time, but take it off when I'm washing my hair in the shower, cooking with any kind of raw meat, and cleaning dishes. I also need to take it off at work, since I'm a massage therapist. Pretty sure my clients would not enjoy a pokey diamond ring on their back!
When I shower, when I sleep and when I'm working on any of my art projects.
When I'm cooking with meat, cleaning with any chemicals, showering, and drying my hair. It got so hot I almost burnt my finger drying my hair with it on once!
showering, sleeping, cleaning, working out. cooking and swimming. when i was going to culinary school a friend of mine list one of the diamonds from her ring while making bread and since then i am paranoid to cook or bake with mine on!
I only take them off to put lotion on or to clean my rings. That's it! If I were a swimmer, I'd take them off then since I've heard chlorine can weaken gold.
Although I voted never, I do take it off for making hamburgers! ha ha!! too greasy!!
I only take it off to shower, wash my hands at home, put lotion on, and when I clean it. I never take it off to wash my hands in public or anything, I'm too paranoid about dropping it or leaving it somewhere.
I smacked my fiance in the face with my engagement ring while sleeping...the night we got engaged! For the first few days we were engaged, I wore it all the time, even in the shower. But then I started taking it off when I showered and slept and if I was going to work out with weights/go for a long run outside. Now that I have lost a few pounds during my wedding diet, it is loose and I am even more paranoid so I pretty much take it off as soon as I am back home in my apartment.
I never take mine off except when at taekwondo or boxing because i have to. They even taped them up for recent surgery for me instead of making me take them off. When I get my new eternity band though I might be more anal because of all the prong set diamonds.
I almost never take off my ring. Only when I am some type of house cleaning, cooking or gardening or at the barn, but I will wear gloves rather then take it off if I can. I shower, sleep, swim, wash hands, etc etc with my ring with no problems so far. It is a bit scratched on the band but thats alright, I have other rings on my hands that I never take off.
I take it off for pretty much everything listed above except for getting ready. The only exception is when there isn't a convenient place for me to keep it safe. So if I'm sleeping at a hotel or a friend's house, I keep it on, or if I'm dancing and the only place I can put it is my purse, i keep it on. I'm pretty cautious with it, actually.
