I am just about at the 5 month mark pre-wedding! Just wondering when I should be having my dress fittings. I keep getting different answers. I got my dress at Davids Bridal online and they said to have the first fitting at 4 months, the second at 2-4 weeks before. My theknot.com checklist is telling me to schedule my fittings….and I’m nothing if not a slave to my checklist! Anybody…?

David’s told me to have the first one at 2-3 Months because they can get backed up. It’s scheduled for May 12th for my July 9th wedding.

Usually 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding is the normal time frame for fittings.

I was told from the place where I bought my dress to have your first fitting 2 months before your wedding.

My seamstress told me to get it done early if I wasn’t planning on losing any weight, so I could check it off of my list and forget about it! If you’re not planning on changing in size, why not get it out of the way? 🙂

I also got my dress from DB. I had my first fitting for my June wedding last week. My next fitting (when the dress should be done) is Wednesday, May 4th and it should be ready to take home then.

My first fitting is May 3rd. I think it depends on how busy your seamstress is.
